Akai Retro DAB Radio Alarm Clock with LCD Display and Backlight - Black

This item was on prime but had to wait 2 days for it. Arrived just in it's own box selotaped up no packaging. We opened it up and we both loved it its a beautiful retro radio took me back to the 50's. We use it in our bathroom so use the battery feature 6 C batteries.plays lovely good volume apart from the initial waiting it's a lovely looking easy to tune radio. We'd definitely recommend this product

Love this radio, the colour is perfect for my kitchen. The solid aerial gives me far better reception than the usual flexi wire thing and tuning it in is so easy and far better than the pre-tuned things that don't work well where I live. Yes it reminds me of the radios of my childhood but, unlike the modern ones, it works as well too.

Good design. Feels a bit plasticy and hollow. Picks up DAB in my kitchen where others have struggled. Makes a background humming noise though which is a bit annoying.

I ordered this as I have a similar one in black, which looks great and worked really well for around 5 years until the volume knob started to fail.However, when I opened it, it was NOT the nice looking cream colour as pictured, it was an awful cheap yellowy colour, as if a once cream radio had spent 25 years in the house of a heavy smoker.Even my husband, who usually doesn't care that much about what things look like, used the word 'disgusting'!I can't comment on sound quality or anything else, as returned without ever turning it on on the basis it looks nothing like advertised.

Whilst it does look very good it is a made of cheap plastic and feels like it. Can't get the radio to store the time and date (so useless as an alarm clock), the instruction manual does actually tell you how to operate the thing (i.e. how to preset channels, what the info button is for, how to set the time and date so it stores) other than how to turn it on, auto tune it and to set the alarm. Have had it for two days and the thing wont actually turn on anymore and the standby button seems a bit defective as it wont put the radio on standby but will turn it on - i.e. the only way to turn it off is the shut it down completely - I suspect the alarm then wont work. So all in all I am very disappointed, especially as can't seem to find an actual instruction manual for it online either. On the plus side, arrived on time!

I just love this retro style radio! Sound is excellent! I put it on everyday to My Favourite Radio Channel! Really good sound! I Love it!

The radio kept cutting out on DAB so run it thru my mobile phone on bluetooth. Perfect. Rich clear sound and my mobile is effectively a remote control. Another plus, I can listen to podcasts on it. Makes me want to take to the beach and dance to groovy music.

Easy to use and very attractive. Cheaply made and sound quality was poor for DAB radio. Returned and bought another from a local shop for the same price and much much better quality.

La calidad de los acabados deja que desear para ser una radio de 47€. Deberían poner que trae enchufe británico, he tenido que comprar un cable de alimentación a parte. El resto todo ok, se escucha bien y es una radio, jajajja.
