Nice board but smaller than expected.

It's multifunctional because you can display the black painted metal side or the metal (silver) side (but they do advertise it with just the chalkboard side out). I got this to display my book swag magnets and it's great. I didn't add the hardware, because I didn't want to commit to using one side or the other. It's nice that they packaged the hardware in a zip baggie so it all stays together.

Finally, I have a surface I can use my chalkboard markers on! I have a chalkboard wall in my house that I can't use the markers on because it's porous (so I can only use traditional chalk.) This isn't porous because the backing is metal, so chalkboard markers can be completely erased as designed. Not sure how, but I dented the metal on the back side quite badly, but you can't really see it on the front side. I won't post photos because that might negatively influence people if they see it and think it shipped that way, but I can tell you that I'm pleased that this seems to be quite resilient and well made. I have quite a few strong magnets and they stick great. I don't have any flexible refrigerator magnets so I can't try those, but I'm sure they would stick just fine. I think the back side could be painted with chalkboard paint, or it could be covered with dry erase vinyl for a dry erase board, or contact paper and just used for sticking on notes. You can cut out vinyl to make custom signs if you have a cutting machine. There are so many ways you can use this. I don't love the color of the frame, but it would be easy to paint. The wood color is a medium brown that looks a bit darker in person than it does in the photos. The chalkboard side looks very consistent and smooth (it's rough if you touch it) and didn't scratch when I put my magnet on it. I can't tell if it's paint or another material like chalkboard vinyl. Overall, this board is cute and useful, and if you only need one, it's absolutely worth the price since it means not having to build it yourself.

I really like this chalkboard and the fact that it is magnetic. It is the perfect size for my needs and it wipes up well without residual ghosting of chalk. Highly recommend!

Works like a chalkboard!

i use this at work its the perfect size for what i need it for (words of encouragement quotes) my only grip is i use liquid chalk markers and some of the colors are hard to get off the board you have to scrub to get it off if just using water, maybe i need to use something else

First, I have to say that I thought "magnetic chalkboard" meant that the board could be attached to metal, like it had magnets on it. It doesn't mean that, although it would be simple to add magnetic tape to it and achieve those results. It means that the chalkboard is metal, and magnets stick to it. It was easy enough to hang. It comes with material to hang it with, but I just stuck two thumbtacks into the wall, and it hangs securely by the frame itself.This is a very nice looking board. I got the smallest version because I didn't want it to take up a lot of space. It's plenty of room to leave a message or write a list, which is what I wanted it for. The wood frame is very pretty with the blackness of the board. I used chalk markers on it, and they stand out so nicely! It looks amazing. It was a little hard to clean off, but with some water, it al came right off. It might be good that it doesn't rub off easily if you want to use this for longer term messages. The chalk board coating is on metal (so, yes, you can indeed cover it with magnets if you want), and it is uniformly coated and seems durable. I really like this little board, even if I will have to supplement it with my own magnetic tape if I want to stick it to the metal cabinet.
