Must read
I love Dr. Henry Cloud. Even if you don’t have trust issues, this book is still a good read. He’s so insightful, and the tips and tools he provides are very helpful. I’ve watched his videos and this book goes into depth of his videos.

Wise advice on dealing with trust issues. Simple and widely applicable.
Great book. Well written. Easy to follow, applies to personal relationships as well as professional or political or even family. Gives necessary steps toward rebuilding relationships were trust has been lost. In order for persons to rebuild a damaged relationship, good-will and accountability need to be present on BOTH sides.

Insightful
This book has strong insight into the psychology of Trust and Forgiveness. It's great for anyone who wants to gain a conscious understanding of those.Trust has many meanings:Trust = Something/someone worth investing in through time, effort, love, energy, money, respect, or admiration. Trust = relying on the character, abilities, strength, and/or truth of someone/something. Trust = Believing someone is good, honest, reliable, safe/harmless. Trust = someone/something that protects/guards what you value. Trustworthy = being someone others can depend on, someone who is dependable. Trustworthy = being someone who accepts criticism. Trustworthy = Being someone who can accept/admit being wrong and correct the mistake. Trustworthy = Knowing someone's needs, desires, dreams, and what causes pain. Then putting that into action. Trust isn't about/for everything. Trust means having the ability for a specific task/position. Trust means being suitable for the task/position.Trust is incremental and earned. The amount of trust one has is the amount one has proven/demonstrated being worthy of. Trust isn't the same as forgiveness. Forgiveness means freeing yourself from the pain caused by others. Without forgiveness you're tied to and trapped with those who hurt you. To forgive is to accept what has happened and know that it is finished, fully executed/discharged, paid in full, or reached its end. Unforgiveness perpetuates the psychic damage caused by the untrustworthy and by betrayal. Those who can't forgive can't imagine not being damaged or in pain.

Clear and easy to understand
Henry Cloud writes clearly, lays out his content in an easy to read format. Stories illustrate a point, and he has plenty of them to describe what he is talking about. So it’s interesting as well as informative. I really appreciated this book.

What I most appreciate about this book is the mix of experience, science, and practical application.
I have read several of Dr. Cloud's books and always appreciate his wisdom. What I most appreciate about this book is the mix of experience, science, and practical application. From the first chapter, I was already shifting ideas and processes in my brain. I really love how he shows the way to analyze why you are struggling with trust. If you are someone who has struggled with trust or has had a chaotic/toxic background, I highly recommend reading this! It was truly life-changing.
