Lamp is exactly as described and works perfectly where I need it. My husband put it together very quickly and easily. As others have mentioned, the shade also has to be put together and is therefore not the highest quality, however, I think it looks decent and was easy to assemble. The base is very heavy and keeps the lamp stable. The lamp is somewhat adjustable and I ordered this one specifically because it was taller than a lot of the others I was seeing and I needed it for over my sofa. It fits great! I'm using a smart bulb rather than the bulb that came with it as I have the cord with foot switch behind the sofa, so not accessible. This setup works great for me though and I planned this before ordering. All in all I'm very happy with the lamp and would recommend!

We moved into a house with a small living room and recessed ceiling lights. I really wanted a floor lamp to put in a corner to provide some light on the couch for reading. I looked everywhere. Other websites had arc lamps for upwards of $700, and I almost hit the buy button. Thankfully, I thought to check on Amazon first. There are a lot of arc lamps on here so this was my needs in a lamp: I needed a brass/gold pole, white lamp shade, and I needed it to not extend too far (I was looking for 45" in depth).I nearly bought another lamp when I saw this one. I liked that the pole stood straight up before it began its arc. If you're looking at other lamps, take notice of that. Maybe you don't mind that others begin arching immediately from the base but I did. I also like that this has an adjustable arc range so that when we eventually move out of this house and have some space in our living room, this lamp will still work.The black marble base is nice, though it's tucked under the couch so it's not really seen, I was impressed when I took it out of the box.Here's the one thing I would warn others of about this lamp: it is HEAVY. This of course is because of the needed base, but I don't know how anyone would be able to put it together by themselves. It took my husband holding the pole while I lifted the marble base to tighten the nut on the bottom of the base which secures the pole to the base. Maybe you could somehow lay it on its side and pray you don't whack something with the pole but I would just recommend having 2 people for assembly.As far as the instructions, they were super easy. If you've ever screwed up a piece of Ikea furniture, you can assemble this. The pole parts screw together, they go into the base and are fastened by a bolt/nut combo. For the shade, you just unroll the shade aspect of it (it's shipped in a roll with the wire frames separate), and then roll the top and bottom frame of the shade onto the shade where it clicks onto the frame.The light bulb it comes with was too bright for us, so we swapped it for a 40w warm white bulb which provided the perfect warm glow we were looking for.Overall, I'm very glad we found this lamp. It saved us a lot of money, it seems sturdy, and it looks great.

This is a great product. I initially wasn’t in love with it and contemplated returning it….until I changed the bulb from the 60w that came with it to a softer 40w bulb and it’s warm and lovely instead of harsh and overwhelming considering it doesn’t have a dimmer function. If the company reads this I would suggest changing the bulb because Amazon said this product had a high rate of return and I intuit this could be why cos it’s a great quality product but may not create the emotional attachment with the bright **s bulb it ships with cos no one wants to sit under that. I just ordered another one if that says anything about the change it has made in the space and to my impression of it. I really want to give it 4.5 stars but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

This lamp has given me life! It came very well packaged, and nothing was broken or torn. It's pretty self explanatory on how to put it together, though I was glad it had instructions and the little bent wrench to tighten the bolt underneath. The marble base is HEAVY. Very good quality pole and shade, so I'm not afraid it will tip or break. My only 2 complaints would be that I wish it had a longer cord, and that it needs an alternate switch under the shade or on the pole to turn it on. Since I have it behind my sectional, I have used an extension cord to plug it in to a smart plug in order for it to work with my Alexa devices to voice command it to turn on and off. Otherwise, there would be no way I could have kept this because I wouldn't have been able to turn it on. Other than that, it's a beautiful lamp and I was pleasantly surprised how big the shade was! I read the dimensions before I bought it, but it's definitely bigger than anticipated. I also swapped out the light bulbs for a soft amber bulb for reading (as shown), and to not strain my eyes. It was nice that it did come with an LED bulb, though.

I had been looking for a new living room lamp for months after moving-- we've got a tight space and our living room is fairly dark as it's surrounded by trees, so it's been hard finding something just right that will still give enough light.I usually don't like this style of lamp, but it seemed like the best available option so I decided to just go for it and hope for the best. I put it together myself in about 10 minutes, and it is incredibly nice. I really didn't expect it. The lamp stands straight and then arcs, so you get some good height that helps distribute the light further.Three notes:1) Yes, you do need to put the shade together yourself but it's so super easy and mine didn't come with any dents or damage. It looks perfect.2) I can see why some would want a diffuser (you might if you intend to keep this at a lower arc), but for my use at its max height/arc, it's not needed.3) As someone else mentioned, as you put this together you'll want to pull the cord taut through the metal tubes each time you connect one. It will prevent the cord from twisting and getting stuck later.

I bought this as a house warming gift for a friend. They loved it! Very sturdy and she loved the on/off foot switch on the cord.

Have been looking for and wanting a lamp like this for a while now. Looked at a bunch of different ones online and in store. Great lamp for the price. Easy to put together and super sturdy. Looks expensive and gives off great light exactly where I wanted and needed. Definitely would buy again and recommend. Classy lamp 😍

Love our new lamp. It was the perfect addition to the corner of our family room. It was easy to assemble. The base is very heavy so the whole lamp is very sturdy 👌🏻

After visiting many physical stores I decided to take a chance and buy this kind of lamp online cause it was cheaper. Had a look at some on here and decided to buy this one, the best decision!
