When you need a CD/DVD drive, this works fine
Our latest desktop computer did not have an internal DVD/CD drive option. This drive does the trick - so far I've used it mainly to burn specific CD compilations from the thousands of mp3 files I have. It works fine and is very thin and inconspicuous.

Works as advertised
Because my new laptop didn't have one, I needed an external drive to replace the DVD/CD Read/Write unit of my defunct laptop. Without an external unit I would be unable to read my libraries' many DVDs and CDs. Due of its low cost, I was very hesitant to purchase this unit. However, as soon as I received it, I connected it to my new laptop, (it was plug and play) I spent the next 4+ hours reminiscing through 100s of old photos, videos and listening to music! The Dell DW316 USB Thin DVD Super Multi Drive worked beautifully. Only time will tell just how well it holds up for the long haul.

The Quality being Great
This is my second Dell burner. The first one fell off table and damaged. But that's my fault. These are excellent burners that's why I ordered another through Amazon. They were quick shipping arriving to me in 2 days. And the burner burns excellent. Highly recommend this if you looking for a great Cd/DVD burner.

No instructions.?
I like this product, but it came with no instructions. I am a senior citizen and not very computer savvy. I had to take it to Best Buy and get the Geek Squad to show me how it worked. Thanks to them I can now use it with my computer.

Good add on DVD player
Works great with my Dell notebook computer. Plug in via hdmi port and setup is automatic.
