Battery is legit. Overall well worth moving to this price
The media could not be loaded. Ok I’ve done this several times now bc in the last few yrs we’ve had a total of 6 “hoverboards” for varying lengths of time. My focus going in was always pretty much the same as when I’m selecting a new cellphone - battery is king. Sure all the fancy features and bells & whistles are nice but I’m prob never gonna use those things so when forced to choose I’ll always lean towards better batt specs. The big difference this time was that prior to this one they were all cheapies. You know the ones…where there are like 80 different no name, off brand boards all within a $40 or so price span so you spend hours trying to differentiate between them before finally realizing they are all basically the same and you’re just gonna have to throw a dart and hope. Well now I’ve thrown several darts and I learned a few things along the way from and about all those cheapies.1. Listed specs are almost always exaggerated (to say it nicely) on them. This is especially true of the battery. Four separate ones arrived and when I looked at the spec sticker they all have I immediately saw the batt capacity was far lower (sometimes half!) than what they’d so proudly claimed. In my view that is outright fraud. This Gyroor battery exactly matches its listing and performs well, usually lasting an hr or so depending on the size of the kid on it and how aggressively they’re using it. We’ve got a kart seat on ours most of the time and it seems like it goes for at least an 1 hr and a half. 2. They all had absurdly dangerous chargers/charging systems. This Gyroor unit is the first one we’ve had that has an honest to god trickle charger (like you put on stored vehicles) instead of just the cheapest money can buy that hopefully won’t blow up. Some of the cheaper ones weren’t even actually UL listed, as they’d claimed. A lot of ppl don’t realize that’s something you can pretty easily look up. This unit fully recharges in a cpl hours which is at least twice as fast as the cheap ones. That’s a big deal around here.3. Not all apps are created equal. A cpl of the cheapies did also have a connected app but neither seemed to actually do much of anything. They did help you Bluetooth connect your music or whatever but we don’t waste time or battery life on that. The Gyroor app was simple to connect and with a sliding bar you can easily adjust the max speed it’s capable of which I’m sure is great for smaller kids and/or beginners. That said, bc we normally have the kart seat on, we just leave it cranked up to 100% and turn off the balance assist so we don’t use the app much.I am an engineer so I’ve somewhat enjoyed messing with these things and seeing what they’re actually comprised of vs. what they claim but my recommendation to anyone would be…skip all the junk. If you can swing the price bump into this higher level of quality I think you’ll make out well in regards to value in the long run.**oh by the ways -This thing doesn’t loudly and annoyingly beep nonstop when it thinks you’re going too fast like literally every cheap one we hadIf you are going to use a kart seat I’d like to recommend a slightly unconventional attachment method. I’ve tried several things from heavy duty wire ties to Velcro straps to paracord. They all eventually rub against the ground enough to wear down and eventually snap. I finally landed on stainless steel hose clamps. They’re dirt cheap and easily malleable & resilient enough to do the job.One of these on each side has held up perfectly -https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-5-7-in-Stainless-Steel-Hose-Clamp-6799595/202309383 .Lastly - Shout out to my cousin Ryan and his weird Neo-esque Matrix jacket for letting me get a cpl quick vids to show an adult on it with no troubles.

Solid ride for children and adults alike
The media could not be loaded. My friend's son has been begging for a hoverboard ever since he rode his neighbor’s over the summer, and so my wife and I decided to purchase this one as a Christmas present after some research. Needless to say, he LOVED it as did his dad. We asked both of them for their feedback. They used their experience riding their neighbor’s as a point of comparison (they own a dual 150-watt model name brand from a big-box store). What they like in the Gyroor G5:- Self balancing. Makes it easier for beginner riders to get on and off. No fear of the board flying out from under your feet when mounting or dismounting. Their son was able to mount and dismount the board with no problems. Equally important, his mother with some balance challenges had minimal issues riding this board.- 300W dual motors. Allows for heavier adults to ride with confidence. The lower wattage models felt strained and produced a louder whirring sound while in use. This model is responsive and maneuvers with ease.- Responsive. Once you get the hang of riding the board, the ride becomes pretty intuitive. The board responds well to your weight shifts.- Nice, solid, grippy wheels- Nice bonus with the built-in speakers which are adequately loud, clear, and provides some “umph” to your ride. What they did not like:- The instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. There were no clear instructions on how to get the speakers to work. More tech-challenged users will have to fumble around a bit to get things working.- Instructions on how to manually switch modes are also not easy to follow. Definitely download the app in order to do things like changing between child and adult modes.Overall, they said that you should definitely spend the extra $50 to $75 dollars for this model as it is a good compromise between the dual-150W and the dual-350W+ motor ones. Adults will be able to ride just as confidently as the kids on this board.I haven't personally tried the board myself, but will one day once the pandemic is gone and I can go visit them again.

Good hoverboard with awesome lights
Both of my kids (8 and 12) ride this hoverboard and have been happy. It's easy for them to use and we all love the lights, especially inside the tires. Battery life is good and the speakers are better and louder than other brands we have tried. Very happy so far.

Didn't work.
My husband, who can figure out how to work anything was unable to get this going. My son in laws were born unable to figure out how to set it up. We are shipping it back. We have to drive thirty min to make them return. Unable to drop off at local Kohl's. Grandson was disappointed and so are we.
