Manson in His Own Words: The Shocking Confessions of 'The Most Dangerous Man Alive'

Great Book About Mansons Life!
I recently just got into this case, and I must say it’s a very interesting one and worth digging into! I’m 18 and I’m into a lot of older stuff like old movies and music. The Manon case is probably the most interesting crime case I’ve ever came across and this book tells a lot of what he’s been through in life and explains how he turned out the way he did. But don’t take everything he says too seriously since he does say things that sort of sound a little off and untrue, but for the most part a lot of it is also true and very well written by Nuel Emmons. I highly recommend it if you’re interested and the Manson case and want to know his story of everything and his life. I give Manson in his own words a 10/10 and we’ll be reading again as well!

Fantastic book, opens up a whole new world with the case.
First off, if you are looking for a really detailed account of the crimes and trial this book is not for you. This is Manson's story, from his mouth and out of the pen of Neul Emmons. Manson starts off from his childhood telling key moments from his youth that contributed to his way of thinking. Some stories were really sad and depressing, some fully and others enlightening.Manson goes further and throws out a lot of stories and information that other books failed to cover. He also establishes the murder to have been done, not to incite a race war, but to free Bobby Beausoleil-- which to me makes more sense. Manson also explains how his paranoia escalated after he shot and (thought he) killed a Black Panther and the fear and paranoia that started around Spahn Ranch, which led to him arming his family members and becoming violent. The book contains a lot of incriminating information against himself, but also more rational explanations than the bogus "mind control" BS Bugliosi introduced. He also explained that other people were involved with the murder of Shorty Shea, which were never prosecuted. All, in all the book is very good, very candid and you can tell Manson really pored his heart out and attempted the truth. Sadly, a lot of the truth goes against the case the D.A. made against him, which will in end make people call him a liar.I suggest this book highly, and think it's more important than Helter Skelter.

The disastrous effects of severe childhood trauma
I enjoy reading bios, and my last book was on Dwight D. Eisenhower, so I picked this book to gain some understanding on CT or severe childhood trauma. I was shocked. Stunned. Given the similarities between PTSD, it was as if Charles Manson went through 100 tours in Vietnam. The human psyche cannot hold that much abuse, rejection, hatred, violence, and neglect before it shatters completely. This no excuse for his crimes or his lifestyle, however. He deserved what he got. But for therapists who want to understand severe childhood trauma, this book is helpful.

I think this is an excellent read. It's obviously sad how Manson turned out
I want to preface this review by saying I don't support nor encourage what happened to those victims. I'm merely commenting on the material and how it was presented.I think this is an excellent read. It's obviously sad how Manson turned out, but if you actually sit down and read some of his opinions on society and parenting, you can see that he had some great points. Imagine if he hadn't been tormented as a child what he could have been. I also like how objective he was in evaluating himself. Yes, he messed up and did things wrong, but the perspective he gave on those events at least puts to bed the mania that surrounded him and all the hype that he was given. It's really kind of hard to see this guy as some mind control maniac when he admits he's nothing and that they all did drugs.

The Real Story of the Tate LoBianco Murders
I’ve read numerous books about Mansion and was 21 when the murders occurred. This is one of the best books that I’ve read. Even though he makes excuses for why he turned out the way he did, he doesn’t deny his involvement in the murders & how they happened.

Creepy good
He is right... people do 'sensationalize' his and 'his followers' acts and he discusses this in this book. He lets you know out of the gate how his mind works. He is such a creepy yet fascinating study. His interpretation of the events that he was involved in is truly enlightening, it's almost difficult to figure out if he is truly insane or just that socially awkward and messed up. It kind of sets you aback at how some people in our society think.

great book.
I liked it a lot. Manson said it was all changed around and garbage. I still liked it and found it interesting. It's in my top 5 of Manson books. This subject has so many twists, turns and side stories happening. It's just an incredible story. My picks in order on this subject are - 1) The Family, 2) Shadow Over Santasusana, 3) Manson: In His Own Words, 4) Will You Die For Me?, 5) Helter Skelter.

Worth reading
Very interesting point of view of the main character, finally. If you're sick of the "racial war" and other ridiculous theories, that's the book for you. Let the man speak!

I LOVED THIS BOOK
I LOVED THIS BOOK. Charles Manson was really wise even though how he was represented and some of the things he did. Really interesting book written by the man himself in some way. Just like a novel but all you read is facts! Cant stop reading once you started.

Charles Manson autobiografia
