This product is useless as it does NOT meet the RS232 specification
I bought this to control a PTZ camera from an RS422 controller. It does not produce the correct RS232 signal levels (which should be +- 12V) only about +6 to +1 volt which of course does not work, even with an external power supply. Looking further the switch mode power chip does not even have power applied so cannot work! As there is no circuit supplied I looked no further, but I suspect that this might all work with a fully implemented RS232 controller, the opposite direction of my use but this is not mentioned in the description.
