Not as good as other reviewers claim
First, I really had high hopes, especially since it was rated as difficult. This is not my first book nook so I am aware of what to expect, this experience did not live up to my expectations. I'll start with the cons-Instructions were not complete/detailed, I had to do A LOT of guessing.Pieces were not correctly labled and did not follow directions.Pieces were not labled at all.Could not glue anything because I could not be sure I had the correct piece in the right place.Pieces that were mentioned in instructions but after telling you how to put together, the piece is never mentioned again as where to put it.While it was time consuming it took a total of 4 hours, it definitely should not have the difficulty rating it does.Pros-I finished it.Like I said, I really wanted to like it but for what it cost, I just could not. I gave 3 stars because I was able to finish it and it looks somewhat like the pictures.UPDATE: Seller reached out to me in order to resolve the above mentioned issues. The fact that they are willing to resolve the issue shows they truly care about their customers, definitely worth giving them another try.

Quick build with minimal gluing
This was a very quick build (8-10 hours maybe) with no painting, almost no tools needed (it came with what you need, like a tiny screwdriver and glue--the only tool I had to grab from my kit was a pair of long tweezers for placing some things), very little gluing (which made fixing some mistakes much easier than usual, as well as getting the final piece perfectly rectangular because it all lines up with slots instead of me having to try to glue things squarely and keep them even), and minimal electric work just placing the lights which have already been wired, hiding the cords, and plugging the components into the board). It is basically just a big wooden puzzle for the most part. Directions were pretty good, but a lot of the parts had their numbers mislabeled in the directions so it was a bit of seeking to find them (nothing was missing, though!). Also it has a touch button in the lower left corner to turn on/off the lights so it’s much easier to turn on and off than my other miniatures which I rarely turn on because their switches are too hard to get to. I would say this is a good kit to get if you are new to miniatures and want to see if it is a hobby you wish to pursue more seriously, you just need to be careful removing the wooden pieces from their holders and in inserting them into the slots--if you are too rough and grow impatient or get frustrated, they will break.

Magic kit, very nice attractive kit
My mother purchased this for me and I ended up giving it to her, she really like it. She's gone through several sets of batteries as she likes to leave the lights on.It's has good quality materials, easy to pop out and put together. A little more complicated but has some nice touches. The curved wood in the corner, the upper stairs are unique and there is a hidden room under the stairs. The book case swings back and forth to open the hidden room up.Get this one, it's fun.

Save yourself the headache
The parts are not machined well, so they don’t always line up. I shredded several pieces trying to get them to fit right, and now I can’t get the back piece on because it isn’t lined up right. All the book stickers had to be trimmed, and the instructions are also somewhat difficult to understand.Edit: After finally getting the whole thing assembled, the lights don’t work. Hours of work and it doesn’t even function. I checked the lights in the beginning, but now they won’t turn on.

So fun and easy for your first one!
I absolutely loved doing this house. My 12 year old daughter and I put it together. There were some issues with the instructions not matching up but there are corrected versions in the description so it’s really not that big of a deal. I was able to figure it out easy enough. The one thing a lot of people seem to have a problem with is the light sensor. The thing that was not working for me is I was trying to use rechargeable batteries. No matter how much I charged them the sensor would not work correctly. I bought some regular AA and it worked perfectly. I will definitely be buying more.
