basic easy to use tool
OK, you can buy cheaper, you can buy plastic, however this is a proven engineering design that works all the clever new designs are either uncomfortable to use or are not fit for purpose. This just does one job very easily, unfortunately theres a premium when you buy a product that will last a long time. Its basic and works. a bit like a hammer, cant be improved on.

My brother hasn't complained so must be good. He wanted it for his upholstery business.

You get what you pay for
Bought a cheaper product and it bent on almost the first staple. This is much more substantial, feels good in the hand and gives you more confidence to use a bit of elbow grease when you come up against more stubborn staples.

It's too wide fir the job its designed for

Not very efficient for removing staples
In spite of filing down the edge of this tool, I still could not get it under the staples. I resorted to filing down and old screwdriver and hitting it with a small hammer... That worked much better.
