Good book with good advice.

This has been a great book to read. It really helped me to understand how to use comic strip conversions with my son who has additional needs.

Very thin book which introduces the reader to the basic ingredients of a comic strip. More examples would be helpful.

Well thought out teaching aid

Expected more. There is a brief intro followed by 8 different drawings of stickmen & speech bubbles to show how to design your own comic conversation. For example, overlapping speech bubbles = interrupting. Stick men have ears with arrows from speech bubble to ears. The idea is that the child can draw something that has happened or will happen, colours can express different feelings, green = happy. That is all that is really in this booklet. I was expecting some pre written comic conversations about general topics, this is not the case. I had done my own stickmen / speech bubbles before buying this book. I did 'how to be a good listener' with responses to someone talking such as 'that's good' 'really'. This worked well, but unfortunately this book does not give anything pre written conversation strategies.

Perfect for using with pupils who has ASD or social skills difficulties. Would be better with a few examples.

Our youngest daughter has recently been diagnosed with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and this book was recommended to us by the 'professionals', and it really is a helpful book.

I bought this to help me with a Uni assignment and have used it in work practice also. It's staying on my bookshelves.

Superb!

Written by Carol Gray who also does Social Narratives, this is a standard book for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

I was disappointed by this book. Maybe it's just that I had something different in mind when I ordered it.
