They come to a ranch an' work up a stake, and the first thing you know they're poundin' their tail on some other ranch. They ain't got nothing to look ahead to.".Of Mice and Men needs no introduction and anything I write in it’s praise is going to fall short for the masterpiece that it is..This is a story about two migrant ranch workers who move from place to place in California in search of new job opportunities during the Great Depression in the United States. While George is intelligent but uneducated, Lennie is physically strong but mentally disabled. They look out for one another, trying to scrap by and save enough money for their big dream - a place of their own..The trouble starts soon after they reach their new job and George mixes up with other workers while Lennie cannot keep himself out of trouble..I have never felt so many emotions reading a 100 pages! Tragic, Beautiful unsettling prose, the character descriptions and growth, everything written with such brilliance!.I’m amazed at how something so simple can be so powerful and impactful!
