It's low profile, adds hardly any thickness to the phone, while adding a good deal of protection. Obviously it's not gonna be as shock proof as something like an Otterbox, but it should keep your front and back glass reasonably protected from everyday use. There's just enough bump on the 4 corners of the front to keep your screen from touch any surface when laying face down, and enough of a ring on the back to keep your camera glass off of surfaces when laying face up. That said, I still put glass protectors on both, which this case does not interfere with at all. It also adds a good deal of grip to an otherwise very slick phone (I have the black textured model, which seems to be somehow be more slippery than the gloss).
