Delivery & price just fine
Somewhat surprisingly the print head went u/s on my A3 printer - not too impressed by this given the printer is not that old and lifespan of printheads is said to be pretty well for the life of the printer! However, had to buy one and the service and price for this item was excellent - fixed the problem

Replacement print head
Reason I bought this printer was to be able to replace the printheads. Having had printheads block on other manufactures expensive printers meaning they were scrap I wasn't going to add to the junk pile again. OK they are not cheap but a new printer is almost £500.

BEWARE - Unpackaged and out of date
The cartridge was delivered without the external cardboard packaging and with the expiration date on the foil packaging scratched out. Sure enough, when opening I discovered that the print head was out of warranty. I don't have an issue with it being out of date if I'm told that's what I'm buying but in this case I've been intentionally mislead that I was buying an in date printhead. That's dishonest.

Essential for B9180 printer
The HP B9180 has user swap out printheads, unlike the Epson models that are supposed to last for life (i.e. the life of the printer). Each printhead caters for 2 colours. At some stage the printhead is going to show 'FAIR' on the diagnostic page, and you will notice gaps or lines in prints. A new printhead sorted this problem out for me, the Photo black and light gray head is usually the first to go, at it fires out the most ink for average use prints - remember there is black used in every colour. Fitting is very simple following the manual, and after initial priming, the printer went back to printing with its usual good output. Good result from genuine replacement part.

why are they then available to buy?I tried cleaning the printhead before buying one... you can tell how well that went.
