What you get is far more comprehensive than what the product description, and photos, would have you believe.You may have balked at the price tag. Let me tell you now that you’re getting good value. The cage is a single, machined aluminum piece with solid fit. You’re also getting an NP-F battery adapter plate for extended runtime. This plate has 1x USB-C PD in/out, 1x USB-C 2.0 and USB-A 2.0 outlets and a DC 8.6V to power a camera and has a secondary 1/4”-20 mounting point. It’s also capable of powering your iPad while charging the battery, inline. It’s a $40-60 accessory on its own.This is a high quality item. Machined aluminum frame, anodized for durability and given a matte textured finish to give it a whiff of quality. Shockingly, the frame is one piece and, instead of clamping the iPad in, it’s instead held in with tabs and the battery adapter plate.To protect the iPad from the cage frame, a clear TPU case is included. Installation is simple:- snap clear TPU case onto iPad- place iPad into frame- secure it with the mounting plate using 4 screws- align battery adapter plate to mounting tabs and slide in the direction of the arrows until it clicks- and that’s itThere’s an abundance of 1/4”-20 holes all around with anti-twist channels and 4 cold shoes, one per corner. iPad controls are still accessible, although a bit shrouded, by the frame. You may have to abandon use of the fingerprint reader because of this; doing another fingerprint scan with the cage installed is recommended.A nice touch is a faux leather shade that attaches using magnetic bungee clips. Aside from Velcro, this is the most well attached shade I’ve used on a field monitor.The only thing missing is a ball head or tilt/swivel monitor mount, so be aware.

Riddle me this: What can keep 12 rambunctious third graders from destroying iPads while learning stop motion? If you said 12 of these, gold star for you! They're easy to install, easy to use, easy to clean, well made and for our iPad air 2022-23. Kept the machines secure and stable and stood up to a lot of kid-handling. Worth every penny.

Received the Accsoon iPad cage in nice, no frills packaging. Fit and finish was excellent and lived up to the hype. I use the iPad in a professional commercial photography setting and needed a durable, functional, and attractive case to protect my investment. Accsoon is one of only a few options on the market currently. Easy NP series battery attachment was a big draw for me. Literally a turnkey setup for robust iPad protection and full day use. Nato rails and peripheral attachments are easily had with this package. One improvement I see they could easily implement is building in native arcs-Swiss plates for ballhead attachment. Another would be placing a screw hole for a plate attachment where the iPad charger input is. Currently you cannot mount a plate(or handle) at the bottom of the cage when in portrait mode, which often is the orientation preferred when shooting portraits or e-commerce fashion. Alternatively you can mount it at the top and flip the pad. This is functional, but not optimal. Overall a nice piece of gear for the gear head! Highly recommend, but looking forward to the next iteration.

My iPad is with me all the time. The Accsoon Power Cage Pro not only provides great protection for the iPad, it has a wonderful stand for viewing on a desk, attachment points for loops or straps, and cold shoe accessory attachments for LED lights or a microphone. This is an industrial strength addition to my kit, and something I would not want to be without. The precision, light weight aluminum structure is beautifully designed for ease of insertion - or removal - of the iPad, and for the secure positioning of the screen. It has been built with every consideration for security of the iPad, and convenience of the holder. As I use the iPad for slating films, a strap on the cage assures control of the slippery iPad. I found new uses for the iPad because I have such a terrific "cage" for it. I strongly recommend this.

This cage is not something you want to fuss with on set, putting an iPad into it and then taking your iPad out again after shooting. However, I did not do this and dedicated a hard case to holding it and all of my accessories (small Sony AC flip-plug battery charger, odd cables, and such) and simply let it live in there. When this is how you use it, you can have some confidence that your 1,000.00 equipment is safe.Innovative, a solid case; VERY useful. SIX STARS!

I ordered two of these for my iPad Pro but the frame was stuck and wouldn't expand to fit my iPads so I returned them. Great idea and much needed cage for iPad so hopefully they'll work out the bugs. The returns went smoothly and was honored in full.

Overall build is perfecto and what was hoping for. like it. Added skin protection on the back side of iPad and presto... ready for action. It's expensive but there's nothing else like it in the marketplace.
