Lasts forever
I bought this in March 2015. It is now October 2020, and it's still going strong on the original batteries.We used it extensively when camping, but for the last three years I've been using it as a loft light (no electricity up there yet). A couple of months ago I did some work up there and accidentally left it turned on for about 48 hours, but it's still showing no signs of needing new batteries.UPDATE: 19th June 2021. Just replaced the batteries for the first time. They're not flat yet, but it's been a bit dim for a while. I might update this again in another six years...

Pro's - Terrific lamp doing as advertised and exceeding expectations re sturdiness, light emittence on high, medium and cozy.Improvements-Batteries + lamp = bit heavy but really competition is worse if the lamp also needs a decent high setting-No torch function-No "find in the dark LED

This is the best lantern ever
This is the best lantern ever. I haven't tried any other lantern, but I don't need to. I still haven't changed the batteries on this and I've carried it around a lot. My toddler also loves to ruin my night vision with it in dimply lit rooms. He would agree that it doesn't get much better.

The replacement started buzzing after the warranty expires
this is great, battery lasts ages, amazon customer services were superb when it developed a buzzing fault in lamp mode. even the new one buzzes slightly when in flashing mode but i assumes this is part of the product design (internal solenoid/relay or something)Update 30/10/18The replacement one is now buzzing annoyingly so when not in full brightness mode , would no longer recommend this product :(
