TIGI Cosmetics Metal Pencil Sharpener

This is simple, well-designed, well-made, and lasts forever. It's all metal, supports three different sizes of pencil. A lot more expensive than the plastic ones but I can't even tell you how many of those I've gone through in the past four years because they are universally junky and break. Better to buy this one and have it last for the next twenty. It doesn't have a reservoir for shavings so just hold it over a trash can and you're good.

I have probably tried hundreds of sharpeners because I’ve been wearing makeup for over forty years and this sharpener is THE ABSOLUTE BEST! No exaggeration! It sharpened my eye liner pencil to a better point then when I first took it out of the package - which sounds impossible but it’s true. There is no tip breakage or splintering whatsoever. It’s simply amazing and I will never buy another brand again. The only drawback is there is no container attached so you need to sharpen over a trash can - but that is not that big of a deal considering the wonderful job this sharpener does.

This is an excellent little sharpener. It is the only one that gets my nail white pencil sharp to a thin point to easily fit under my nails. The pencil sharpens smoothly without cracking.

Over the years I have used literally hundreds of sharpeners. I am an artist and lost the one in my kit so I stole this from my cosmetics drawer.Wow. I went looking and found Tehran here at Amazon. Comparison in price it is expensive but the old one is twenty years old. They last. The others you have to keep replacing and they do a shoddy job. These last along time and give crisp points and do not damage the pencil doing it. Well worth the price!

The sharpness

I have tried countless sharpeners from higher end venders to standard drug store varieties and none have worked as well as this one. I've been using it for several months now and have been able to sharpen every makeup pencil I own from waxy lip crayon styles to standard eye liners of all sizes without any of the usual breakage issues. I was able to salvage liners that had been impossible to sharpen before. The design is smart and simple and I found it easy to clean out with a Q-Tip. It doesn't have a cover to catch shavings but that wasn't a game changer for me since I feel those fill up too fast anyways.

I used to wince while I sharpened my eyeliner/eyebrow pencils, knowing that I'd lose a fair share of them to my old sharpener. This one must be made with real precision to help hold the pencil against the blade and the blades must be sharp -- I can't figure out how else it could do such a great job! I'm keeping it in the bathroom with my make-up but keep wondering if and/or where I should hide it! It's among a small list of favorite possessions.
