Nice flavor and great as a milk tea latte
This tea tastes just like the hojicha milk tea I had in Korea. Following the directions on the bag, I felt like the flavor was a little weak, but then I added a little bit more powder to my hoji shot, and it became the perfect tea. It can be hard to get the proportions right, but when you do, the flavor is rich, earthy, nutty, and sweet. It also tastes great iced or hot! I will definitely buy more of this soon.My latte recipe:1 and 1/4 tsp of hojicha powder60ml hot water- froth/stir -1 tsp condensed milk1 tsp honey150ml milk- Heat and stir it all together in a milk frother (I use my Nespresso frother) or add ice -

Concentrated green tea beverage, fun experimenting with new drinks
The media could not be loaded. I’ve never had this sort of drink but I enjoy green tea daily so I thought I’d give it a shot. I decided to follow the instructions as there are four recommendations on the back of the packet (see pic). This was the first time making these and I took a video for you to see how they turned out (I’m sure I’ll get better with time). The easiest drink is to just throw a teaspoon of powder into water bottle and shake. I didn’t make that but I did make the Latte, the Classic, and the shot. I’ll say these are obviously not sweet in anyway, as this powder is true to the green tea flavor (and then some).I decided to dive in headfirst and took the shot. I think I was expecting it to be harsh, so I was surprised that I enjoyed it. It’s basically taking a very concentrated amount of green tea all at once.I then moved to the classic Hojicha, and that was similar but diluted. I’m not one to drink sweet teas but for something this concentrated I grabbed a basic cookie to go along with it. What a great combo that was. Next up was the Hojicha Latte, and that hit the spot (especially accompanied by a cookie).I’ve really enjoyed my experimentation and happy to see how much powder is in a single packet. There’s 3.5 ounces of this powder in a single packet estimated as 100 servings so this will go far.Altogether if you’re a green tea fanatic like me, this Hojicha powder is worth exploring. The ingredients are simply “roasted green tea powder” so especially happy to see there’s no additives, and considering the health benefits of green tea you can’t go wrong. One tip I’ll point out, when making drinks be sure to really mix them up. I thought I did but at the end of each cup was quite a bit of sediment so I find myself stirring as I drink just to make sure nothing is wasted. Enjoy!

Disappointed
I wanted desperately to appreciate and like Hojica. But it left such an unpleasant taste on my palate. It smelled like seaweed and tasted like coffee left in the pot on the burner all day combined with old coffee grounds.I wish I would've ordered a smaller amount and not have wasted money. I'll put it in the compost, so there will not be a total loss.

Chalky mouthfeel
I'm so disappointed, what with all the wonderful customer reviews. I enjoy hojicha and wanted to explore other brands so I ordered this one, but after several cups I still don't like it. It has a chalky, gritty feel unlike the previous brand I was drinking (which I will go back to). It's as though someone has stirred vermiculite into my drink.I ordered the aluminum cans, and they were packaged in a mailer and were quite dented by the time they reached me. I had planned to give one as a gift, but with the flavor and appearance, will be finding something else to give.I will open the second can and see if perhaps the open can I have is a bad batch? I will hope so. I will update this review if it turns out the second can tastes better.I also ordered matcha from the company, and it is very good! So strange that the hojicha seems so off.

Delicious!
I’m so happy to have found this brand! It’s so good and cheaper than the products I can find locally. Highly recommend!

Chalky and Chocolatey
Texturally, it’s chalky because it doesn’t mix well. Tasty wise, it reminds me of chocolate milk when used in a latte

Surprisingly great, versatile too!
I am not a tremendous green tea fan, but I was taken in by the flavor of this. I don’t know how quite to describe it, but there’s a nice, nutty aspect to this while still maintaining the classic green tea flavors. It’s really good!I tried it cold (shaken) and also made an oat milk latte with it at home. The directions on the packet tell you to froth a small amount of the powder with water to make a “shot” and then mix it in when making most of the tea preparations. A vigorous shaking in water bottle dissolved the powder okay, but there was still unincorporated powder when I just threw it in with the milk to steam. I don’t always say this, but the manufacturer may be right on this point. Thankfully a little swirl with a teaspoon incorporated my latte just fine and no real harm was done.Pros:+ Packages provides many servings+ Multiple ways to enjoy the tea+ DeliciousCons:- Many of these ways require you to incorporate small amounts of powder with hot water and use a frothed first, so not all preparations are super convenient (but the iced tea certainly is)If you like trying something a little different and like green tea then this is a great thing to try. It’s a bit of an uncommon thing in the USA so it might make an interesting gift or conversation starter. I was morning but pleasantly surprised with this product overall and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any tea drinker.

Good Korean hojicha powder
This Korean hojicha powder is of very good quality and fresh. It has a smooth, earthly flavor with a smoky note to it. The aroma is toasty as well. I blend it in 175°F hot water to make hojicha tea and it was tasty. It was soothing, mellow and gentle on the stomach. It also tastes good a latte. This comes packaged in a sturdy, resealable pouch. It is originated in Boseong county, South Korea. Overall, this is a good hojicha powder. Good flavor and aroma. The price seems pretty reasonable for the quality and taste. I enjoy it a lot. Good product.
