Product Description This high-quality white plastic pipe connector is used as a connector of two pipes. The pipes are pushed over connectors. The bridge in the middle prevents the pipes from slipping through. This connector is used in a round pipe system. Please note that the connector is slightly smaller as the dimensions refer to the inner dimensions of the pipe that is pushed over the pipe connector. The backflow flap prevents cold air from entering the interior unhindered from outside. A backflow flap is especially useful when the pipe is mounted outside on a house wall or similar. Review: Seems to be fine. - Wanting to replace two rubbish "Silavent" ceiling extractor fans with inline fans, I needed to source to vents with shutters, but none were available. So I bought two KAIR vents and two of these. They fit standard 4" (100mm) solid or flexible duct pipe. These are unsprung gravity flaps, so they need to be fitted nothing but vertically to operate properly. Fitted any other way and they won't close. They are also best fitted at the vent in the ceiling so they become dual purpose backdraught and odour eliminators. They seem good quality and due to them not having springs, there's nothing to go rusty and stop working.

I thought it would push fit on the fan and rigid pipe at 100mm, however this is not the case as it’s exactly the same diameter as the duct pipe of 100mm. Therefore just used duct tape to join to a flexible pipe and it’s fine. Cut off half inch of insulation tape and taped to bottom of vent to stop any clanking noise and it’s pretty Much silent. A bit pricey for a flimsy bit of plastic but it works

**Q: Do this product have a spring to close the back shutter? Or does is use gravity to close it once the flow stops?**
A: Gravity - it does rattle in the wind

**Q: Can this be fitted on a 45 deg slop downwards to the outside vent and will it still work fully? Thanks**
A: Oh not so sure it will stay closed at that angle. I have mine fitted on a flat surface and it works perfect.

**Q: Is this product suitable for extracting cooking fumes and steam?**
A: Hi 
I have used this item to prevent a back draught in ducting for an online bathroom steam extraction system.

**Q: On an in-line fan. where is the best place to put one of these? before the fan or after? and does it go onto the fan spigots? or the end of the ducts?**
A: It goes after the fan in the exhaust direction to prevent draughts returning through the vent back into the room/device being vented. It is designed to fit in line in the pipework and will need glueing into rigid pipework or securing with a large pair of jubilee clips into flexible pipes whether plastic or aluminium. You should find on a reasonable external vent kit that it also contains a non return flap, however if you're hooking up multiple rooms in series (i.e. on a single pipe), these also reduce the amount of noise which leaks through the vents

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well and easy to fit

I had 2 bathroom inline fans that allowed stronger winds to cool the bathrooms and create drafts. The backdraft shutters were very easy to install. The first fitted snugly over the fan spigot and the flexible hose was easy to secure to the other side of the shutter. The second fan spigot was the same diameter as the shutter so could only be butted up and secured with duck tape. Not ideal but functional and secure. The drafts have been considerably reduced and a good solution.
