Fun little game, intended for children
Jumbalup is a matchmaking card game, it uses a set collection and take that mechanism to produce a fun and fairly straightforward game. For each animal there are 2 cards (a head and tail) you need to collect 4 complete animals to win.To keep it interesting there's 2 special card types. The Jumbalup card that allows you to take another players card, this will help you make animals. Then there's the Dodo card, this allows you to slow an opponent by taking a completed animal out of play. The rules also included a variant game that removes the take that system and places a memory game in its place. This is suitable for younger children and removes the direct confrontation from the special cards. The idea is to match the head and tail of the animals, so acts like the matching pairs type of games.I bought a 2nd set for my nephews, who will probably like the variant rules more at present. This is a cute little card game that is both fun and educational. The standard rules will help children with some basic mathematics and develop basic strategic/tactical thinking.I feel it is good value for money and could even be a good holiday/filler game.

We all love it!
We love this game! I have played it a lot with my 5 year old twins who enjoying playing by the rules and also just making up funny combinations! We have played it with lots of their friends and a whole age range of children from 1 to 9 years old. There is something for everyone and great to play something that can keep all ages engaged together. My friends daughter, 18 months, really enjoyed matching up the right combinations and proudly showing me what she had done. The older children I have played with enjoy the tactical element of waiting and then stealing your combinations when you are close to winning! My favourite thing about this game is that it is a pack of cards which means it is always in the front of my backpack wherever we go! I have played this game in all sorts of places now, the best being whilst waiting for food in restaurants, no more impatient little ones repeatedly asking when their food will arrive! As other people have said in their reviews the artwork on the cards is really beautiful which makes it an ideal gift that looks very high quality, I bought a few extra to have as stand by presents for that unexpected party that your kids get invited to last minute! It also posts really well too!I would definitely recommend this, we have played a lot and are still enjoying it with more funny and ridiculous combinations to come!

NB>Playing card sized - 9.1 x 6 x 2.2 cm
In the product photo, the product looks large and I was shocked to find a small pack of playing cards delivered. What I thought was great value for money, was therefore, not so. However, the size is stated accurately lower in the description at the bottom of the page and the delivery was within time given. It is just less than I had expected.Updated 6th March 2025My original disappointment in the size of this playing-card sized game for kids has dissipated due to the fact that my daughter loves it and we are still regularly playing the game many months later. It is good for her language development and she loves the pictures of the animals and making choices about which ones to keep! Five Stars.

Brilliant family fun!
What a fabulous game! - as soon as we got the cards out we were struck by the beautiful animal designs, and before reading the rules we couldn't resist matching up a few different 'head' & 'tail' cards to make crazy animals! The cards are satisfyingly designed so that any 'head' seamlessly matches up next to any 'tail'. The rules are easy to understand, the aim being to complete 4 'proper' animals but there are a couple of wildcards in the pack which adds a fun, tactical element. One of these allows you to steal any card you want from another player (our youngest daughter loves this bit!) and the other wildcard removes a complete animal from any player who needs pegging back!We love playing this game as a family, it's great fun for 7 to 70yr olds!

Great game!
A really fun game! The cards all show half of an animal and half of its name, so the aim is to get 4 complete animals. The fun on the way is making the mismatched animals, complete with comedy names. Really easy to pick up the rules - we played it over and over with my 7 year old. There are additional cards that give the players an advantage to add another layer to the game. I'm sure young children would just enjoy matching the animals or making funny ones too!

Engages young children
I bought a pack in a charity shop and my daughter (3.5years) absolutely loves this game. The game is easy to play for her age but when they learn about playing with more strategic intentions it will take on another level of fun. Currently she loves getting a card to enable her to steal another players compleyed animal and enjoys the funny animal combination. Good quality materials. We have bought this time as a gift for friends of a similar age. It is also light enough to take out and about for entertainment on the go in cafes etc.
