I had the older model impact before buying this one. This one is really better on all fronts. More compact, lighter, more modes, better lighting, & more torque. If you don’t have the old one to reference to, no worries. This impact is 100% worth it. I trust and love this brand. Totally worth the money.

I love this thing.Powerful yet can be delicate and quiet and slow when it needs to.Loving the different mode settings to allow delicate operation vs max the power.I can drill into delicate wood as well vs fastening bolts. I almost don't need a drill driver(for weekend DIY-ers).PROs:Powerful, versatile, adjustable modes, good batt life.The most used power tool in my house at the moment.CONs: (room for improvement)Wish the LED light was located on the two sides of the driver collet, not singular at beneath it. It lights up the region of interest fine, the shadow created would be less with the side placements. It is better than the one that's at the bottom of the grip.Cannot remove the wrist strap without disassembly or destroying the strap.

I bought this driver to replace my other hitachi impact (10 years old still kicking). It is lighter, smaller, more powerful, more smooth, and has more features then my old one (you would expect that).I deal with a ton of high quality assembly tools for my job in manufacturing and I would rank this tool up there in terms of quality, performance, and handling. Definitely smoother than its Makita and Milwaukee counterparts.

I've had this triple hammer impact driver for about 5 years and just recently had to buy a replacement. It had driven hundreds of lag bolts and Timberlok structural screws before finally giving out.Having a full assortment of Hitachi / Metabo Tools and batteries, I just needed a bare tool replacement.It arrived in a plastic bag with an owners manual inside one of those Amazon padded envelopes. I found the packaging to be ridiculously insufficient but, luckily the tool was not damaged.As of this review, a "Blue" big box store is offering this exact same driver, with 2 batteries a charger a bag for the same price as this bare tool. That stings Amazon....That Stings Metabo.

Used the heck out of the previous gen until the controller shorted out. Sent it out for repair (Metabo has the best warrenty bar non) and got the new gen to keep me going. It’s lighter and and smaller and I couldn’t be happier.

The newest addition to my Hitachi/Metabo HPT tool set, light weight long lasting run time water and dust resistant I've been using these tools for over 10 years professionally installing garage doors I have yet to wear any of there tools out. I've upgraded over the years but all the old batteries still are compatible with the new tools. The features on this gun are top notch with light mode normal mode power mode and self drilling screw mode it's a perfect impact gun in any situation, I will stand these tools up and run equal if not better than any blue yellow or red tool and do it at a 3rd the price for the tool or spare battery.

Update Was given full refund . Replaced and good nowScrews keep comeing loose that holds handle together and 1 light dosent work and I've got alot of metabo tools and this is first time I've had issues as my last ip56 lasted 6 years and still works but has burning smell when being used ....if I could return it I would

I've had one of Hitachi's original impact drills up until now the only reason I'm upgrading is I accidentally broke where the battery clips in and it got to the point I finally pulled the trigger.. I wish I did sooner this thing feels, looks and acts absolutely amazing like falling in love with a younger, fitter version of your wife. Hopefully mine doesn't read this.

Powerful driver. Lightweight and compact. Also pretty slick design. Fantastic multi-function settings for different tasks.Forward / reverse selector very sensitive - can easily be toggled 'off' by accident during operation, especially in reverse so takes a bit of getting used to if switching from another brand.Otherwise very satisfied.
