Okay
Gave this to my 12 year old son for a gift. He put it together in maybe 5 minutes, played flappy block or whatever it is that first game was and it just didn't hold his interest after that. If your kid is into STEM and is perhaps 8+ this may be a great fit, but my 12 year old was just too old for it.

Just okay
My 11 year old did not love this. It was kind of boring and didn't keep him engaged very long.

Nice components and packaging
Nice components and packaging. Online User guide for software installation could be a bit more kid friendly though. But still very satisfied overall.

Website for instructions not set up
The direction sheet tell you to go to test.co/DIYGamer to get the manual. The site leads to a GODaddy page that isn’t set up.Also on Amazon says 2 AA batteries but the component sheet states a 9volt is needed. Not impressed, a waste of money

Looked good but besides online site unit not good.
I went out to website to test and see if it was worth giving to my son. The website is pretty cool. they give the kids step by step and starter code and then take them through steps to program. If at the end the program doesn't work they have the code for the kids to download. Problem, I downloaded their programs and all I get is a few dots across the top no face,no welcome,no sound and I even downloaded the snake game and nothing. The unit was connected to the pc and the first 3-4 times had errors with connection, my son would have given up there, but I trouble shot it and got it working or at least where it no longer gave errors. The unit is also not very friendly for kids, will need help with lining up the pins. When you need to connect to PC you have to pull apart the board. You also have to do this to get the battery in. when in the hand and pressing buttons, it bends they should make it a little more stable.I think maybe for older kids, but there are way more units and better programming toys/stuff out there.Update, tried their code uploading 3 more times and each time I got something different, one time sound, one time move left and right but not up and down and a third time just lights on top again.
