Sonicism 12 Pack Sound Proof Foam Panels for Walls Self-Adhesive 12"X12"X1"

I bought 36 of these to deaden my small home studio - not enough to fully cover the walls but at least they cut down on all the echo. The adhesive is very effective - I followed the instructions and gave each one a thorough push against the wall and not one has come loose. Problem is, I didn't do enough research and was not aware of sound absorbing blankets. I just got six and hung them around my space and they are great, especially combined with the foam pads that are still up. If you decide to go the foam pad route, I cannot recommend highly enough that you first lay out a barrier of blue painter's tape on the surface you plan to stick the pad to, and then stick the pad to the blue painter tape. It'll take you about 5 minutes time per pad, if that, to cut off the tape and stick it to the surface, but you will save yourself so much time, mess and effort in the event you decide you want to move or remove the pads. I now know from experience what an utter pain it is to remove these and then remove the chunks of foam and adhesive that remains (mineral spirits or denatured alcohol work well, but what a mess!). So in summary, the pads absorb sound pretty well and the adhesive is great - perhaps too great in the event you find you want to move the pads. For my part, tho, sound absorbing blankets would have been the better choice.

I saw a lot of reviews saying that theirs came damaged. Mine came flat as well, they’re not damaged all you need to do is run your nail, coin, ruler, something hard over them and they pop right back up. Shame people leave bad reviews without trying to fix them :/ as far as quality they do a decent/good job. you’ll need a lot more if you want a huge difference in sound reduction. I used these to keep the sound in because my buildings walls are thin and they definitely work. worried about removal though because they super stuck to the wall. UPDATE: These were super hard to get off the wall. It was very time consuming and was left with grease stains. If you don’t use an adhesive remover they will rip off the paint so be careful!

Made hanging sound panels easy and it kept them up there the whole time I had my sound booth. Only downside is the removal process, if you put it on a bare painted wall be prepared for some paint to come off with them if you peal them off, I suggest more of a roll off method but you will still likely repaint a bit regardless.

Bought these to sound insulate the ac unit in a closet. Were easy to cut and stick to the walls and the vast majority have held... a few needed to be pressed in place later. Sound wise, using a decibel meter, they made a pretty decent difference in the sound coming out of the closet.

It does exactly what it needs to do. The only downside is I had to reinforce it with nails because the adhesive it came with wouldn't exactly keep it in place. Otherwise I love it for the price. I used a hair dryer to fix the malformations. It's perfect.

I purchased, in error, a roll of insulation from an eBay source which is being returned. Looking for a replacement solution for two opposite-side doors in my basement for Home Theater soundproofing. Both doors are hollow and wanted to tame some frequency leaking through and up the floors. These are well-adhesed AND thankfully are easy to remove(on my painted doors, not sure if this translates to other finishes) if you want to reposition or change the amount of proofing used. TIP-keep just in case the paper backing for future use. My experience so far is sound normally heard on my first floor was drastically reduced in volume and i didn't use all of the tiles. I recommend an A/B test of familiar material (BR/Music etc.) before and after installation especially if this is for Home Theater purposes to gauge the differences in its performance.
