Awesome Product!
We redid a set of concrete walls that had bulged and cracked due to water getting in and swelling the rebarb. The Mason was pretty good but it's not all that easy to get large 2 foot patched of concrete perfectly level. I got this tool to see what it could do and it came through perfectly. We hooked it up to a DeWalt 9 gallon shop Vacuum to control the dust and to my amazement there was zero detectable dust. The Blade cut into the concrete at about 1/32" per pass with light touch and about an 1/8" with a hard press. Very controllable for leveling out the concrete. So far we have done about three patched ot areas with each one about 2ft squared. No problems with level cutting and dust. I just bought another unit because the job is big and we don't know if it will last the whole way through. So far at this price and the results I am getting I am more than happy to buy an extra unit.

Good but not great
Bought this to use with my Makita GA7021 7" Angle Grinder because the Makita equivalent was out of stock (and twice as expensive). It works, but takes some fiddling to get it to fit square and tight to the motor. The particular ring that was the right size interferes with the four bolts on the face of the grinder, so it needs a little gentle persuasion (the reason for four stars). Once in place, however, it stayed there. I used it when grinding concrete to help flatten my basement floor. When attached to a shop vac, it captures way more dust than without it, but plenty still escapes, so you still need to tarp everything and wear a dust mask. A final pro tip: don't wet the floor when grinding to keep the dust down. Your grinder and shop vac will hate you, and your dust shroud will fill up with mud. Lesson learned the hard way.

Wife approved!! Efficient Dust Control Solution
I must say it has earned its place in my toolkit with a solid 5 rating.First and foremost, my wife gave her stamp of approval on how well this item worked. She was concerned using a grinder in the house to remove tile mortar and this dust shroud did not disappoint in that regard.Setup was easy. I encountered no issues fitting it onto my grinder. Connections supplied also seamlessly connected to my shop vacuum. However, I did notice that I had to pay some attention to ensure that the vacuum hose stayed securely connected while using. One minor hiccup I encountered was the need to add some pressure to the top of the grinder during use to press down the ‘broom’ bristles to make floor contact. It took a bit of trial and error to find the exact pressure required, but once dialed in, the performance was exceptional. The dust shroud effectively contained ALL dust generated. I did have on a respirator, but I probably could have done without it.It gets the job done; I’m really impressed after reading quite a few negative reviews on like products.

Baffling instructions *updated*
The instructions are so vague as to be useless. I tried to follow the instructions but no matter what I did, it would not seat securely to my Metabo. It ended up at a slight angle that eventually melted the inner ring of the shroud, causing the door mechanism to melt into a permanent open position in just 5 minutes of grinding. This definitely could be user error, but instructions that made sense with better diagrams (they're TINY and not clearly labelled!) would have helped a lot.UPDATE: The seller reached out and refunded me, which saved me a trip to return it. I appreciate this and have raised my review rating. After further researching other dust shroud products (some of which helpfully include pictures of compatible grinder measurement ranges), I believe that there aren't any good options for the Metabo G12SR4 - the part of the shaft where the shrouds must connect is too short to offer a stable connection, which eventually caused the melting issue I experienced.I eventually jury-rigged a stable connection using Instamorph moldable plastic and string. If I were to do this all over again, I'd just buy a different angle grinder :(

Technically it works. After a lot of modifications.
I have a 4” concrete grinding wheel on my cheap Menards grinder. That’s apparently a bad combo. What’s strange is that the clamp for the grinder attachment doesn’t seem to be designed for the diameter of the adapters. When clamped to the proper tightness to keep it in place, the entire dust shield is shifted off to one side. This would absolutely cause the plastic melting that some have experienced. I did not have a larger wheel, so didn’t have this issue. My particular wheel did not extend past the bristles around the shield. I had to press down a lot to get the wheel to even contact, and then it barely took anything off. After trying to trim down the bristles unsuccessfully, I ended up pounding them out with a hammer and screwdriver. This actually ended up working really well for me.The hose adapter doesn’t sit very well in the dust shield. So plan on that falling out a lot. After the above modifications, it worked quite well, minus the hose adapter issues mentioned. Even without the bristles, dust was almost all sucked up with my shop vac.So do I recommend this? Depends. If you just want to buy the cheapest one and are fine with heavily modifying it to work for you, have at it. If you want something that works out of the box? Move on and find another.

manufacturing defect
Seemed OK out of the box, but when I tried to mount the shroud on an angle grinder I found a problem. The mounting hole on the shroud, where it is mounted on the angle grinder, was off center, so a 4-1/2" grinding wheel hit the side of the shroud, making it imposible to mount the grinding wheel and the shroud unusable. I returned the product and will purchase another from a different manufacturer.
