RING RSP600 Solar Power Battery Maintainer

I still have to run multimeter tests on it, but have been waiting for over two weeks for my new multimeter to arrive. My BMW X5 has some power issues common to the model, as modules wake up when the vehicle is not in use or do not go to sleep when you turn the ignition off, the Sat Nav being one of the worst culprits. Initially I plugged this in to the 12v socket which is still live/powered when the ignition key is removed and I was gutted when two days later the vehicles battery was dead flat, I was puzzled as in theory the device should not be able to cause a drain. Being concerned that using the 12v socket had caused some of the cars electronic systems to wake up or stay awake, I run the cable through and connected it via the crocodile clips directly to the battery which worked a treat but whilst doing so I discovered that the set of LED bulbs I had installed in the rear reading lights were faulty, I replaced them and have since again tried the 12v cigarette socket and it to works just fine. It keeps my battery at a steady 12.2 volts even on an mildly overcast day, it was just not able to cope with the drain of the three LED bulbs that were drawing much more juice than they should. Two things I think already mentioned in the reviews, no light to indicate the device is providing power and secondly if your vehicle electrics isolate the 12v connector when the ignition is switched off as my wife's VW Gulf does, then your only option is the crocodile clips as once you take the key out there will be on power getting to your battery.

Fitted this "inside" the cabin of my boat, (well illuminated by windows) my voltage on the volt meter was showing zero so I expected this would take about two weeks to charge the battery... after 10 minutes it showed 10 volts on the volt meter! OMG I didnt expect that, I do have a very good battery, a lead acid Trojan marine deep cycle battery and the battery is well topped up and has always been superb at keeping its charge, only this time I had left the boat for several months and a small interior light had zapped the battery I was really impressed by how quickly the voltage started to climb but then I guess this is the top of the range model...

Having the battery die in a caravan is a pain however this has done an excellent job of keeping mine alive for about two and a half years now, never do I have to worry about walking in and the lights not working. The panel itself is situated inside the caravan facing out a window and this appears to be sufficient - note they're not the cleanest windows either! For me this has definitely lived up to what it claims to be able to do.

Bought it, plugged it into my (always on) cigarette lighter socket. Enough cable to reach from the garage window, where the panel stays, to into the car with the door closed. I just wish I knew it was doing something, there are no flashing or other lights anywhere. Ring, does it really hurt to add some indication? Apparently there is one on the smallest version of this panel but not the medium or large versions. WHY?

Unlike the Ring Automotive power pack, which works very well, this solar maintainer did not recharge my car's battery and if anything it seemed to drain the battery. Very disappointing.

I am very pleased with my purchase. The delivery was on schedule, and the product has quality. The only defect is the silicone bead that has to be put to seal water, is incomprehensible that failure on the part of the manufacturer. The solar panel charges the battery of my cabin perfectly. Overall I am very satisfied and recommend this product and also this seller.

lo utilizzo per mantenere in carica una batteria auto a cui ho collegato un impianto a led per illuminare il garage...OTTIMO !!!

Ottimo anche dopo quasi due anni di utilizzo! Mantiene carica la batteria della mia BMW K75 RT, il cavo lungo aiuta.

È grande e un po ingombrante pero funziona alla grande. Consiglio per un camper no smart. È troppo piccola :)
