I have grown fascinated by soil amendments, especially those most commonly used in Japanese style gardening. This neem meal is so interesting to me. I have a batch of dirt that has basically everything mixed into it, but I think the most important ingredients were preserved sphagnum moss, coco coir, and worm castings. I decided to expand my recipe and add in this neem meal, along with that bigfoot stuff for boosting mycorrhizae. Well, let me tell you that is the right two products to use together because this neem meal has its own ability to promote positive fungus in the dirt. In fact, I would suggest you not expose it to air. By that I mean, you may want a layer of dirt or lava rock pebbles or western fir bark or something on top of the dirt that is amended with this, to keep all of that more contained. I have had very little issues like that, but my dirt bucket can get some white mold on it when I use those products together and there is not enough other content to break it down more. I have, however, used this on top of the dirt outside and I don't really have any sort of issues when I do that. I like it for certain specific pest issues, such as putting it under my hostas in my Japanese style garden to discourage wasps from nesting in the moss underneath.

Easy to add to plants to deter fungus Nats. Didn't deter spider mites. I will buy it again.

So I buy thinking its neem cake, claims to be right there in the first sentance (which happens to be all you see when doing a google search). Wait 4 grueling days while trying to keep the fungus gnats at bay, then this crap arrives on my doorstep. Sure, you could say I should have read the entire paragraph long item name. But it says right as the top header, Neem Cake. But its not neem cake. I pretty much hate neemninja
