I'm very busy and can only dedicate 20 minutes a day to language study, but I am thrilled that after only a few weeks I can understand a very simple spoken dialogue, I was also able to read a word or two of Hindi at the Indian embassy whiile queueing for my visa! Since learning another language was the last thing I thought I'd be doing at my age (60) I am extremely encouraged and sincerely hope I will persevere after my trip. The method is simple and direct and allows the student to make quick progress. I haven't given this purchase 5 stars because of a minor defect. The Hindi script in the book is tiny and difficult to read. I need a magnifying glass to identify the letters.
