AMDRyzen™ 9 7900X3D 12-Core, 24-Thread Desktop Processor

This thing is blazing fast and installed into my ASRock steel legend MB with no issues at all.Not OC yet and using a Corsair water pump for cooling.Happy with the purchase. Delivery took longer than expected which after the first supplier canceled the order. I was a little miffed and anxious to get this CPU. Last supplier provided a discount and evidently didn't wish to honor said discount.

It does pull a bit of power, but, otherwise, I have nothing negative to relay about this processor. It's largely unbothered by any task outside 3D rendering or large statistical modeling. Unless you have a need for the absolute cutting edge of processing power, this should be more than enough.

You get great gaming performance, but it also crushes it in productivity tasks, thanks to those extra cores.Yes, it runs a bit hot, and you’ll need a good cooler, but the performance gains are worth it. The 7800X3D is great purely for gaming, but if you want a bit more flexibility and a CPU that can handle everything, the 7900X3D is a better bet. I've had this for a little over a year and it's still amazing. I get over 300 fps in most games. I'll upgrade to the 9800x3d in the future but I'm not in a rush. Paired with a 4080super and no complaints.

Now this is great for gaming and I got it on sale and that's why I went with this versus the 7800x3d. I finally was able to put together my rig and I am very happy with the results so far. It has been great for gaming and I am a casual gamer. I didn't pair it with the best GPU due to budget reasons but do plan on later on upgrading the GPU.Update: So my GPU is my bottleneck but with my 1080p screen thr RX 7600 XT was my budget GPU to pair with this. I know later down the line I will get a better GPU but it is what it is. I play everything no issues. I have a cheap AIO 240 paired with grizzly paste keeps this CPU idle 35-40c casual games 50-55c more heavy games 65-75c more towards 65c though. I do love the fact of having cores for gaming and cores for everything else. The 7950x3d would be a better choice for me but costs. I splurged on the CPU with it being on sale at the time on prime day.

This CPU is great. It works flawlessly with my 4090 but I wish I had waited for the 7800X3D instead.AMD has opted on using a dual chiplet design architecture this generation. While the CPU has 12 cores, (6 cores on each chiplet) AMD's new "3D V-Cache" makes the CPU park 6 of those 12 cores while gaming since the 3D V-Cache is only stacked on one chiplet.The performance is great if you use your PC for both gaming and productivity but if you only game, you are better off getting the cheaper 7800X3D. It only has 8 cores but since it's design architecture is one chiplet, the 3D V-Cache is on all 8 cores, none of the cores are parked and you get the full use of all 8 cores vs the use of only 6 cores with the 7900X3DI take this as a learning experience and while I have a little buyer's remorse, I can't say that the 7900X3D doesn't perform well. It's just that the 7800X3D makes the 7900X3D inferior and for less money.It's highly likely that AMD delayed the release of the 7800X3D at the time so that early adopters like myself would buy the 7900X3D since one would think 7900X3D>7800X3D (bigger number better). which feels scummy but you live and you learn. AMD may hove squeezed a couple of hundred dollars out of me with this move but they made me be more critical and averse to buying their products in the future.

For $320, I couldn’t pass this up.Undervolt in the bios - runs cool and fast.Windows scheduling issues a thing of the past.Ram runs 6000MT no problemI do notice a nice bump using Xbox Game Bar and setting "remember this game" for the games I use, and they favor the V-cache cores and do it well, and leave the non-V cores to background tasks.-30mv in bois max temp 85c setting - works great. All cores over 5.2 and a few 5.5-5.6 - not a bad CPU at all. Moved up from 5950X (more cores but slower) and move the 5950X to a server box that will use all the cores/threads. The 12/24 on this works more than fine on my main workstation.

This CPU is insanely fast, and it absolutely crushed all the games I threw at it. It works great, but it does get very hot, so only cool it with Liquid cooling such as an AIO. It seems incredibly stable overall.
