Bed Bug Trap Moat

Part of the solution to bed bugs
This product does catch bed bugs...I put them around my bed posts and woke up in the morning to find bed bugs of various sizes. To check, I left some of these in there for a few days and they never escaped. So I'm pretty sure they do exactly what their intention is. That is - to stop bed bugs that live outside of your bed from crawling in your bed at night, feeding on you, then leaving and going back to their hiding spots. However, this alone won't stop bed bugs. Beg bugs can only crawl, they can't jump or fly. So you need to also make sure there is not other way of they crawling into your bed. Move your bed away from the wall (so they can't crawl up the wall an into your bed). Move anything under your bed that touches the bottom of your bed as this acts like a bedbug ladder (I removed everything).Still this won't kill bedbugs living outside of your bed. But it will stop them getting in. You need to really get an exterminator to advise you on killing them. Also, if you already have bedbugs actually living in your bed (normally a wooden bedframe and something in a heavy mattress, like under the buttons) these interceptors obviously won't stop them, as the bedbugs are already living there (by living I mean their nest will be in cracks in your bedframe). So to summarise this is how these interceptors help -* do you want to know if bedbugs are living/nesting outside of your bed and trying to get you in your sleep? (They do this) - this will be able to tell you (as long as you don't give the bedbugs any other "ladders" to get into your bed)* do not expect it to get rid of your bedbug problem. It won't. You almost certainly need an exterminator. My advice:* definitely get these. After an exterminator does their work, it gives you peace of mind if they've killed all the blighters. That in itself is worth the 20 odd quid.

It may have worked wonderfully well- I don't know because it turns out I ...
Its four plastic bowls with talcum powder sprinkled over it. It may have worked wonderfully well- I don't know because it turns out I never had bed bugs- I'm just paranoid. (My paranoia gets worse when I'm stressed and apparently strays into the realm of visual hallucinations). If it does work, at least it is simple to use with very clear instructions, but maybe a little over priced for what it is.

Not overly impressed
Not overly impressed. Too big, too ugly and did not actually under the bed legs which are rectangular. Used standard rectangular furniture leg cups filled with bed bug killer/repellent to solve this, works and is much more discreet. However, top tip; if your have support legs in the centre of the bed, do not forget these, the bugs can climb up them as well! This product is ideal for that job, you can't see it and it does work.

exactly what it says!
I have been using these for a few months, and they have yet not snapped, chipped or cracked thankfully. I use them under all the beds including the baby cot. They are large enough to carry the leg weight of the beds so i definatly recommend them if you want to protect your furniture from bed bugs. They also hold enough powder in the centre and outer areas to protect the furniture as described. I have had a total renovation of my home and have not come across any bed bugs for the past 6months since using these, and i intend to keep using them and buy more for my stock supplies for the rest of my furniture.

These are great for helping to assuage paranoia
These are great for helping to assuage paranoia. If you're looking for something to help you sleep when you're imagining tiny insects feasting on your blood, these are the product for you. Ours have never caught any bed bugs, but a beetle did get stuck in there once, and we're not sure we actually had bed bugs in the first place.
