Quite easy to use

I transfered over the key blade, chip and battery to the new case with no problems and was pleasently surprised to have received a new Ford badge / logo with the case which was a nice bonus. However in the process of transfering everything over to the new case I damaged the chip as the engine failed to turn over, but the remote locking was still working fine.Sometimes when repacing a battery in a key fob you need to reprogramme the fob to get the remote locking function to work again, you do this by following the procedure in the vehicle user manual and away you go. A local auto locksmith told me I had damaged the chip when transfering it over to the new case which ment the engine could not turn over. So because of my own clumsiness I am now £125 poorer as I had to call out the locksmith to sort out a whole new key fob.I have learnt the hard way, so thought I would put out a word of warning to anyone else thinking that a simple key fob case replacement would be easy.The case itself is ok but does not clip together as well as the original Ford key fob case. The two halves of the piece that holds the key blade came apart slightly when turning it in the the ignition. Likewise for the two part piece which holds the chip and battery, if the keyring twists it can prise open the case slightly and needs to be clipped back in place. Its good enough for an emergency spare but I think over time with daily usage the case would eventually become unusable.I'm gutted as I am normally so careful with anything delicate and fiddly. My advice is to only replace a key fob case if you have a spare key at hand as this has caused me alot of grief. I think there are better quality cases out there so its worth paying a bit more for one that clips together better. In my opinion this is not 'high quality' as description states. I have given it three stars because I thought it was a nice touch receiving the mini Ford badge for the key fob case which I was not expecting.
