If You Want to Muddle Through (or better) Just Buy It
I searched for a good muddler because I became enamored with sake cocktails after a meal at a local Asian fusion restaurant that served me an absolutely gorgeous sake sour. This muddler arrived post haste, but just as importantly, Laura, the proprietor of Bru Joy sent a lovely email not only thanking me for my order, but providing tips on how to use the muddler, and an invitation to contact her directly with any questions or issues. As I am not a muddler afficionado (in fact, prior to this purchase I was an absolute MUDDLER VIRGIN!) I have carefully followed Laura's advice, which has been spot on. And the quality of the design and manufacture of the Bru Joy are simply top notch. I am a far distance from being a top mixologist, I admit. But with this muddler in hand, I absolutely don't have to worry about having the right tool. If there is a better muddling tool out there, I can't imagine it, but so be it.In the meantime, I'm perfectly content, and can proceed on my path to being a perfectly average, if not above, mixologist.

looked nice and matched my other bar accessories
I bought this product to make mojitos for my wife. To be honest, all I cared about was buying a muddler that was priced well, looked nice and matched my other bar accessories. I was pleasantly surprised that this product works great as well. Can't beat the Bru Joy Cocktail drink Muddler on price, quality, performance or appearance. Very happy with my purchase and addition to my bar.

Mojitos, anyone?
It's not quite mojito season yet here in Texas, but in the immortal words of Jimmy Buffett, "It's August Somewhere". Wait, that's not quite right... In any case, my old, wooden muddler is now officially retired. This thing works great for mojitos, limeades, and I can't wait to find out what else. The quality is top notch. It feels great in your hand and the weight and balance are really nice. If you think you don't need a muddler, you've probably never used a nice one. They are excellent for any drink that contains fresh fruit. They release the juices and oils in a way that simply squeezing can never match. The teeth on this Bru Joy muddler really work on the limes to release those oils and the result is an outstanding drink. Give it a try, for the price you just can't go wrong.

Doesn’t hold together long.
The plastic and metal came apart and now to clean it thoroughly I have to remove them and wash separately. I just use it for dry goods now.

My first muddler and hopefully my last
I've recently taken to making my own cocktails because babysitting is expensive and I love treating my friends to a hand crafted drink. My first attempt was a Gin Mule, no biggie, don't really need a muddler for that. Next up was the Old Fashioned.. definitely need a muddler to grind down that sugar. I tried to be a cheapie and used a wooden spoon, but it took forever. I did some research and came across this guy. I wanted wood but thought twice about and it went the modern route and I am pleased. I ground (or muddled) down sugar in no time. It muddled mint leaves (gently) with ease. Pretty soon I'll be dancing on the bar and tossing bottles around breathing fire! But until then, I'll take it easy with this handy little tool. It does its job and it does it well.

Works well and is easy to clean
Works well and is easy to clean. The bottom polymer piece detaches from the stainless steel handle to clean separately if needed. The grooved bottom piece allows easier crushing and mixing than the smooth muddler alternatives. The whole muddler is just long enough to work in my highball glasses without hitting my knuckles. If you have really tall glasses or mixers, this may be too short as some of my larger glasses were nearly as tall as the muddler. This caused my knuckles to hit the top rim of the glass. Just something to think about.

Excellent muddler, no carryover taste when going from one cocktail to the next

Versatile, and PRETTY. love the look and works great!
I love this. I've already made many mojitos! I love the stainless steel look. I'm now taking up cocktail making and have been making drinks almost nightly. This comes in handy for anything that needs to be crushed. (Not sure if it was intended to be used for fruits, but I even crushed fruit to get the juices in the drinks). THEN last night my fiancé brought home tea leaves... 'Nuff said! So real tea flavor added to my Long Island ice tea!
