So much fun!
I bought this for my traveling workspace at school. The 8th graders loved it. It is simply cardboard but I didn’t have to make anything.

Not as well made as it use to be.
I have bought this many times in the past and it use to be the thick cardboard and was a bit larger. Now it is like thick poster paper rather than cardboard. I like to use it in my classroom as a 3 dimensional prop for the kids. They love it. Here is what I had to do. I went to the dollar tree and got 3 of the thick black poster boards. The ones that are basically styrofoam with paper on both sides. I then took a box cutter and cut the middle out of the fireplace. Then I cut the poster board to reinforce the sides and the image. Then I attached lengthwise pieces of the boards to give depth to the fireplace and attached the cut out fire behind and perpendicular to those boards this gave me a place to put a fake fireplace(not one with heat just a prop). The light and fake fire brought out the image in the back. Last I made a mantle out of the purchased poster board. I added that on top and used some push pins to attach stockings. I forgot to get a picture but it still looked great. The students loved it and it was really sturdy when all that was complete. The image itself is wonderful. Vibrant colors and realistic look. It is just on cheap paper so it really should come down with price. For an extra $9 for the fake fireplace prop and $3.75 for the poster boards and a little tape/glue $2, you have a nice prop you can reuse if you carefully take it apart and put it away, which I did. Next year I will only need some more blue painters tape and I will have my fireplace prop gtg. I don’t think I would use it flimsy as it is year to year. But this is the only one I know how to get so I would purchase it again. It does what it should and meets the need.

This Should Win Me FIRST PLACE!
I plan on winning first place this year (2022) for Best Decorated Door. The product is an important part of my design. As for the product itself, it is very flimsy. It is made out of the same material they make greetings cards. I had to reinforce it with cardboard and use a cardboard box to hold it's 3D shape. Since it's sold to be displayed three-dimensionally, it kind of fails at that. You have to reinforce it somehow. It's also smaller in scale than any real fireplace I've seen, so take that into consideration. I had to place it up higher on my door so it could be seen better. It would be more convincing at floor level though. It would be a good size for a children's playhouse.Anyway...I'll report back if I win first place!

Looks nice, good value for price!
I’ve read some very negative reviews but since I have Prime & can return fairly hassle-free, figured I would see for myself & I think it’s great. The print design is VERY nice! To describe the durability, I say it’s thinner than cardboard, but thicker than paper. I like that you can use it flat or in the trifold position. I was originally going to use it flat & thumb tack it to my cubicle wall, but I was able to make the trifold work part-way & also created a little “shelf” on top by not ripping off the tab that’s on top & folding it back. I was able to place a small, fake poinsettia plant, a candle & a small nutcracker along with garland to line it. Because I wanted to do something to make it “pop” I bought a battery-operated string light from my local discount store & strategically poked holes in the back to insert the little bulbs. It may not look like I did much, but it took about an hour & 2 roles of small tape - worth the effort, it looks great! I don’t know how long this fake fireplace will last me, but I definitely think I will be able to use it next year & considering I tend to keep my things well, probably longer than that.

So bad it's funny.
I should've listened to the bad reviews, but thought, how bad could it be? Well folks, it truly is something that you probably wouldn't want to pay than a fiver for.Super thin, I would say not even poster board thickness, but more like the card that's inside when you buy pantyhose or something. Technically, it can stand on it's own as shown in one picture, but if someone walks by it too fast it'll be on the ground. The other two pics are just to show how it's delivered. I was surprised when tracking said the fake fireplace was left in the mailbox, but yep, there it was.I'm gonna try and salvage it by adding cardboard backing and a cardboard base so that it doesn't look like it belongs in a dolls house (it's also very small), but I really didn't want to spend an hour or more fixing up a cheap prop to go in the background of a Christmas scene.Buyer beware on this one.
