My son asked for exactly 1000 Lego bricks for Christmas. I was looking for many many options and this was the one.

With most Lego sets continuing the downward spiral with quality as the prices increase, I've found myself more interested in Lego's "Classic" theme, where I'll get more bang for my buck & not have to concern myself with poor build designs or AS blatant price gouging. This set, while still expensive for what it is, is amongst the best deals Lego has right now. The colours are beautiful & there're plenty of bricks of all the provided sizes in each colour. I'm not the most creative, but have found it fun to use the colours to create various designs (sometimes more than 1 brick deep) on large base plates. The accompanying booklet & it's builds are rather useless, but it does show the possibilities. If Lego can pump more of these basic, but quality sets out at this kind of price, I'll be happy to throw my money at them.
