Works like a charm!
This duplex hat looks and acts like the one I purchased from china earlier this year but there is no 2 - 3 week waiting on shipping.First try this hat powered up and operated without any issue.Works on a pi 3b+ and Pi 4's.no compatibility issues no issues with getting DOA boards.It just works like its supposed to.Will order again!

Works great.
Newest firmware is 1.61, so this one will need updated. After soldering the jumper and solder bridge, it took the firmware update fine.The hotspot works fine with pi-star. NO compatibility issues.I didn't have to calibrate the BER. Cool. Some of the earlier duplex hotspots really were a pain to get dialed in.So all in all a great product.

Has v1.5.2 most up todate FW on the Hat!
The media could not be loaded. So far, so good. The hat is functional upon receipt and plugged into my RPi 3B+. I ended up with the WPSD Pi-Star flash for the pi from the M17 Project page as I wanted my hat for M17. I have only gotten so far as to get the pi-star portal from W0CHP up and tested with YSF. Got great 59 reports after user config. Next up I'll be working to flash an update to the MMDVM dual hat to support the M17 protocol. Flashing has been... interesting. May need seller support if flashing over GPIO like i am trying. (Requires a solder blob and jumper; install and removal). All in all, great out of the box! Worked with regular pi-star too but not for M17.

Can't get it to work with pi-star
update doesn't work "sudo pistar-mmdvmhshatflash hs_dual_hat" command doesn't run "Command not found" Communication with vendor indicated that it won't work with pi-star that you need to replace it with WPSD. No indication of this in Amazon information. Also only way to communicate with vendor for support was through Amazon.

Solid Duplex MMDVM Board!
The board works great! I am very happy with it! I mounted mine to a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and it has been solid. I went with the 1.3" OLED (Type 6). It's a great project to jump into DMR if you don't quite have the range of a repeater close by or want to a few other/additional talkgroups.
