He enjoyed it quite a bit - and so did I
picked this up in-store, mainly because it had a lot of pictures and many 'comics' throughout - which my 7 yr old loves. He enjoyed it quite a bit - and so did I! It's a really cute story about this boy who is telling a bunch of lies, but in the end you discover it's mainly because he's saving a cat from imminent danger at the hands of a bully with a vicious dog. There are many cute things in the book, including a grandpa who uses 'magic' to help him solve some of the problems. I really liked the magic deal, because while there is one super fantastical bit to it, it's mostly the grandpa teaching his grandson to 'put mind over matter', so to speak. I highly recommend this book - lots of laughter and fun, with overall a very wholesome delivery. It's also tough to find books for my 7 year old that are at this level, but don't focus on middle school and boyfriend/girlfriend issues - this book introduced some 'big' words here and there, but was focused on a 9 year old, which was rather perfect for us. Again - highly recommend! And hope Joe Berger speeds up his writing ;-)

Fun Graphic Novel
I read this aloud to my 9 year old. We thought it was funny. At first my intention was to read just enough to get him interested enough to finish it on his own, but I enjoyed it and ended up reading aloud the whole book.

It was a little ' light weight ' and was more,of a comic than a book.
It was mainly for boys, aged 7-8.
