I really like this book set. This book goes beyond the typical survival guide and gives you projects to work on for alternative energy situations. We have had situations were we have been out of power for up to week with storms and it's not fun. With these finished projects you can have a much easier time for when there is a power outage.

It's a book that should be in any survival backpack, you know? The one that you have to have ready and on hand to take with you in any emergency.It is a book that should be read several times, put into practice. I like it because it has many tools that must be learned BEFORE any disaster, it also has teachings on how to get plants that can be healing, how to use solar, air and water energy, water purification, it teaches different situations, depending on what you have available. Invaluable in any emergency.

Despite the "1000 Days of Ingenious DIY Projects and Ideas to Survive the Incoming Recession and Become Self-Reliant..", there are ZERO DIY project instructions.It informs you that you will need clean water, an alarm system, etc...go figure.I do read quite a bit about prepping and self-reliance, always interested in this topic, hence I bought this 'book' because it has impeccable reviews/ratings (how is it possible???).My honest advice: do not waste your time and money. If you are into prepping, time and money are precious commodities.

The book has basic ideas which can be easily found off the internet, gives very brief descriptions of projects and does not have even basic visuals for each project. Would be ok for someone who is looking for information but to do anything detailed is where this book fails.
