BodumBistro Knife Block, Black

I had one of these for 20+ years that finally cracked from someone in my household jamming too many knives in it for no good reason. I was so glad to find this is still available. Highly recommend.

Seemed to be the best choice for a limited counter space. Bought my first Bodum Bistro Knife Block about 10 years ago. It served well until recently the material of the body of the block became disgustingly sticky and the "straws" holding the knives all twisted. This was odd and too soon in my opinion, but as a creature of habit I ordered the same one. It arrived with the bottom broken and separated. Annoying but ok, lets return and try again. The second one came with the bottom not broken but separated and not attachable. Call me mad, but I have given it the third try, even though now I see many other reviews with the same problem. Holding my fingers crossed, will update. UPDATE: The second exchange did not help. The third block arrived with exactly same problem, the bottom is not attached and is not attachable. As I am not the only one reporting the same problem with this item, shame on the manufacturer and the seller who ignore these reports and continue selling a defective item for a lofty price.

A safe away to manage multiple sharp knives. Much better than a drawer and easy to clean when it rarely needs it

Love that I don't need to get my knives out of a drawer. Looks great on the counter and doesn't take a bunch of real estate on the counter.Don't like that my bread knife with the many teeth catches on the plastic pieces. Honestly though as the knives have found their homes the plastic pieces have loosened up and made it easier to put knives in

I bought this as a replacement for a Bodum knife block I bought over 10 years ago. That one was terrific but simply wore out over time. The new version, regrettably, is poorly designed, shoddily manufactured junk. The thing comes in a plastic bag (yep, it isn’t boxed) in two parts, the block and the base. On first glance, it seems simple enough, snap the base into the bottom of the block and voila. However, the base doesn’t snap into the base causing the weight of the block to push it out. Seriously, what moron designed this thing? I was able to glue the base in place though I suspect this solution will last only a few months. At that point I’ll trash the thing and buy a comparable product from another manufacturer. Bodum used to the be a highly reputable brand. Sadly, it now unethically sells shoddy goods at premium prices. Avoid.

Holds a lot of knives, more than butcher block. Takes up less space and far more attractive than the large wooden butcher block. I was given the same knife holder as a gift to each daughter. Money well spent.

The bottom of the block does not stay in place and any time you pick up the block the bottom section falls off. It is quite annoying and disappointing. I would not purchase agian due to poor workmanship. The concept of knife block is acceptable but the quality is not acceptable.

I have a red one to put my knives in. It is excellent so I order a black one since I changed my kitchen colour but the bottom would not stay in. I was very disappointed. I sent it back and will have to find it in a store.

So easy to put in any size knife. Family all love it. Far better than our old wooden block. Sturdy and easy to clean, looks good on our worktop too.

Perfect size & shape for my kitchen. Holds all my knives safely without taking up too much bench space. As with all Bodum products my knife block looks & is very good quality. Highly recommend.
