It does the job
The Wahl, zero gap tool really does the job. In fact, it over does the job. Not trying to take any money from out of Wahl pocket, but it's a dangerous tool. Zero, gapping the five-star blade, makes it too sharp. It needs to be a new design. Maybe a zero gap adjustment tool. I suggest you zero gap, the blade manually may be at a thirty-degree angle and it would be great.
