## Description

Stuffy parents in Victorian London are looking for a nanny, but the children write their own ad which is torn up and thrown into the fire. Miraculously, the paper reassembles and floats up the chimney flue, and along comes Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) on her umbrella/parachute. She brings fun and magic to the children's lives, as well as a guiding hand. The film won Oscars for Best Actress, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Song and Best Visual Effects.

Review: Supercalafragalisticexpialidocious!! - This film brings wonderful personal nostalgic memories of bygone times when I used to sit with my daughter when she was a child where we would sit and sing along to all the songs - so when I saw this advertised I just had to buy so I could replicate this with my five year old grandson!! It did not disappoint and he too was joining in with the songs and dancing in the living room - a wonderful uplifting family favourite film

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Timeless comfort and joy — the perfect family film

We’ve watched Mary Poppins many times as a family, but this time I found myself in Germany, unable to access Disney Plus on my mother’s TV. Buying it via Prime let us watch it in English, with English subtitles — perfect for my elderly mum, who enjoys studying English. More importantly, this film always gives us that warm, fuzzy feeling (yes, I know — it’s all Hollywood make-believe, the Cockney accents are questionable, etc. — but who cares?). When it’s cold and windy outside, or when you just need a dose of light and joy, Mary Poppins still works its magic every time.
