You & I

A really great film - quite slow and subtle but brilliant. The acting is amazing - I am not sure if lots of it was adlibbed or what but the spark of friendship between the main characters is so realistic. The storyline is simple but effective. Not the sort of film I usually enjoy but I was totally enthralled.

Jonas, a German photographer, and Philip, an English friend, head off on a photography trip through the sparsely populated Uckermark area of northeastern Germany. Jonas is straight, Philip is gay, they've known each other for years, and there's an easy intimacy that permeates their friendship. Enter, a little way down the line, Boris the Polish hitchhiker. Presenting as homophobic initially, it's not long before Boris's curiosity gets the better of him, and he hooks up with Philip one drunken night. It's at this point that an enjoyably affable and laid-back movie changes course; tensions mount, relationships are re-examined and reconfigured, leading to a not-entirely-surprising but satisfying ending.There's nothing here that's hugely surprising or revelatory; it's simply an examination of how relationships evolve and become something else as people discover more about themselves, and the catalysts that make that happen. What there is, though, is presented with great charm and naturalness, which makes the whole thing a pleasure to watch. A note on content: there's a lot of nudity in this film, with the character of Philip in particular seeming to be allergic to clothes. With the exception of one very short scene, though, the nudity is non-sexual, and that scene itself is not explicit.

I just love Road Movies. You & I has it all. A slow, small developing movie, where the 2 friends Jonas and Phillip gain again their friendship, trust and ...love in each other during their roadtrip through a wild part of Germany. Good acting by 3 actors!You have to enjoy roadmovies!

A likeable enough road trip, with an ambiguous ending. An interesting use of dialogue which switches between English and German (and some Polish). I presume the English actor George Taylor, who plays Philip, speaks some German. If not he's very good at giving the impression that he does, because the dialogue involving him and his German friend Jonas (played by Eric Klotzsch) comes across as a genuine conversation between two friends who can speak each other's language.

A German version of a road trip movie, Jonas a photographer has asked a friend Phillip who he knew from when his was based in LONDON to join him on a trip to help him compile a collection of photographs for an exhibition? They start off on the trip and are busy taking plenty of photographs and enjoying themselves. Along the way the meet Boris a hitchhiker who gets invited to join them as the trip progresses. Quite what the relationship between the parties is the open question and whether one of more of them are having sexual relations. The ending for me is the weak link of the film, but visually is good to watch.

An art house piece with a simple but credible story line which explores the distinctions between friendship, sex and love.

Eine abenteuerliche Geschichte Über drei Freunde im Sommer bei einem Auto-Trip durch Südfrankreich.......Aufregend....! Ich kann den Film nur weiter empfehlen an Leute die schöne Aufnahmen auch von der französischen Landschaft mögen......!

ほとんどモスクワが舞台の作品なのに、ほとんどの登場人物が英語を話す、アメリカンな作品でした。t.A.T.uを良く知らない私には、一度見ただけではよくわかりませんでした。それでt.A.T.uのことを調べてから見直してみました。(こちらのt.A.T.uプロジェクトの方が、ドラマチックに感じられます)本人達が歌っていますので、t.A.T.uの好きな方には貴重な作品かもしれません。薬物とか、シリアスで痛たまれない場面もありますが、才能を見出だす才覚を持った業界人が描かれているのが救いです。男性歌手のマネージャー役の役者さんが、いい味を出されていたと思います。どちらもリアリティーが感じられました。が、肝心な主役の二人の女性の関係性の描かれ方が薄いように感じられました。t.A.T.uの歌が良かったので、星4つとさせて頂きます。
