School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale Updated (SACERS) Updated Edition

This rating scale is a staple for early child care centers wishing to provide consistent quality care. Self-evaluations are an extremely important part of the process. This rating scale is long standing industry standard.

This is an amazing tool for assessment in a school-age care environment. It works well as a self assessment tool as well as review from a management perspective or funders. I love to use this tool in my classrooms to see what I could improve. All of the questions give concrete explanations for scoring and leave little room for opinion. If you've never used one of the Harms/Clifford tools check out the video and practice their scoring technique.
