I forgot I was reading, and I started living Paint the Grass.
Themes of heartbreak and healing in the laugh-out-loud, spunky fashion of Bethany Taylor spray painting her life back into being HERS. I feel like I have lived this story before in my own life and hold dear every truth this book teaches about living congruent with myself! Not losing my goals and dreams to anyone else.I love Bethany. If she wasn't fictional we would be friends. The woman painting her backyard into a quilt in this book is not crazy--she is fed up and fired up. She is me and every woman who has lost who she is and needs to find herself. I became Bethany as I read because this book is written with unmatched skill-- every word is a deep dive into Bethany's thoughts and emotions. I did not read this story, I lived it inside the character from numbly eating empty carbs to grabbing and paint can, strapping on running shoes, stepping on stage and finding purpose in each color sprayed in her backyard, I lived every page of Paint the Grass and was changed by it. It held me captive from page one to done. I read it in one day! After reading I could not tell what in my life was up or down and knew I needed a spring cleaning of self work and doing Bethany's challenge. Did any other readers do the list at the back of the book?? I am doing it!!Do something that scares you: I went out to dinner by myself and ordered a fun drink toasting and talking out loud to myself like a loon. Thank you Bethany. And I started my own novel!Appreciate the women in your life: I started weekly friend get togethers, girls nights in and out!Remember what you love: I started an artwork of soft pastel something I haven't done since college, and I will finish it.I will do all the other things listed in Bethany's challenge too and Paint my own Grass. Thank you HR Boyd for writing with such vulnerability that bled onto the page. You made me a believer in me!I feel another purpose of this book is to prove that I can completely lose my crap by laughing and sobbing at the same time. And I did ! Often! I SO get the need to discover myself, reclaim my life and stay in myself. This book does all that with the humor or too many cherry-colas and clown-puke pajamas. So many times I felt the "Me too!" "Yep Girl I get you." or "I want this." as I read and had a stirring in my own heart to get it back together and reclaim my own passions and dreams. Paint the Grass took my soul from shattered to "I'm important and I matter"-- two sayings stamped into my own life from reading and feeling Bethany's running shoes against the pavement.Even after I read it I still turn to scenes or pages that were my favorite just to give myself a boost of strength on my doll-drum days. This book is life changing. Bethany-charging! The powerful feminine gospel of finding who you are again in such a fun story. If you are reading this HR Thank You!! I am convince you actually know and interviewed the real Bethany Taylor to write with such authenticity and insight into my soul!! Thank you for every beautifully written page. This book changed my life and will change many more. I will never forget Paint the Grass. And will have my daughter read this someday and her daughter and so on. Powerful words for a powerful story. Thank you again.

I want to be Bethany!!
I absolutely loved the book "Paint the Grass." Bethany is so relatable and inspiring. I found myself rooting for her and wanting to be more like her. The writing style of the book was fantastic as well. I enjoyed all the characters and didn't want to put them down. I found myself laughing out loud at some parts, and tearing up at others. I would highly recommend this book to any woman of any age. It was both fun and emotionally engaging. "Paint the Grass" is relatable, inspiring, and a true joy to read. I can't wait for book 2 and in the meantime, I'm going to go do something new and amazing, just like Bethany :) .

A great read that was hard to put down.
A very well written, emotional and life changing read. It was hard to put down. I can’t wait to read more of Bethany’s life story and the development of the other characters. It makes me want to set daily goals and achieve them. Us women can do a lot more than we get credit for.

Laughable, Relatable, Loveable!
This book is SO good! It had me laughing by page 2, knowing for certain this book will be made into a movie by Chapter 2 and feeling validated and seen as a Mom and Woman by prior to Chapter 4. Every woman should read this book, it is refreshing, real, clean, humorous, and eloquently written. This book is going to become a staple at book clubs for years to come!! The book is as beautiful as the cover art - you will not regret reading this book!!Thank you H.R. Boyd for creating a masterpiece for women of all ages to enjoy!

The story and characters will suck you in
HR Boyd does an incredible job of relating the characters to the readers. You feel as if you personally know them and can relate to their stories. Each chapter brings you back with the, "What is she going to do next" question. The reader grows each chapter as the main character, Bethany, grows within herself. This book is a great reminder that each person is an individual with their own needs and desires. That "life" sometimes gets in the way of life and remembering who you were can still become how you are.I can't wait for the next book in the series.

My (and your) new favorite book
An absolute 10/10 if not more. This book will give you goose bumps and leave your jaw hanging open with wide eyes at every turn of the page. Bethany’s journey reminds the reader to enjoy life and to spread love. The author has arranged her words in a the most captivating way that keeps the story moving quickly and doesn’t have a single lull. Coming from someone who is incredibly picky with her reads, I couldn’t put the book down. The array of raw emotions this story evoked from me was addictive. I just put the book down and I’m ready to open it back up to page one.
