It’s golden cinema right here. We got the 70s slasher, unrelenting horror and full force grit—with Pearl, a prequel about the sex-crazed killer, it is Golden Cinema and her origin is lavish and fierce. With X, you got the story and the addition tidbits of 1970s horror but with Pearl, the murder is set on a lovely 1918 farm backdrop far away from what we see in X. Even the kills are slow and terribly horrifying. Mia goth is a god.

I really didn't think too much of "X". Pearl takes place 60 years before the events of X. The story involves a young Pearl, bored of her life on a farm and taking care of her invalid father, wants to be a star - and will do anything to reach that goal.I found this movie as basically a metaphor for rejection. It's so much deeper and darker than X. I do recommend.

This DVD’s region was not supported by my DVD player. I spent ages trying to unlock it but nothing worked. Now having to go through the hassle of returning it to a UPS drop off point which are few and far between in my area.Had the region been clear at the time of purchase I wouldn’t have bothered.

If you’ve seen X pearl and Maxine are exactly alike. Personality match so I won’t bother with pearl. Some good parts but still with X
