Mr. Villain's Day Off 01

Simple & Addictive Comedy
I liked this series and have purchased all of the volumes out in America so far (currently 3, March 2024). Though it can be repetitive, it is a relaxing and addictive comedy. The big downside to this series is that it is overpriced for what is being offered. These are very short volumes, and the list price is $15.00 a volume. But if you can, give it a try!

Wholesome
I've been watching the anime and thought I'd give the books a try. This is super cute and very relaxing. Despite the main character being from the Evil League, that's just backdrop. This series is more concern with how the General spends his days off. I'd recommend this for people who want something light that will make them smile!

"On this day, cuteness saved the world."
It's always nice to read something lighthearted once in a while and Mr. Villain's Day Off is exactly that. Plus the pandas and other animals that feature from times to time are cute af so that doesn't hurt and it really made me want to try out the anime, too. There are several chapters and they do get repetitive what with the General repeating it's his day off but that's basically only the first page and not a big deal. However, it's not really just one-shot short stories as I was expecting because there is definitely a deeper story going on here and I'm investedddd.I think Mr. Villain and the Star Festival was my favorite chapter because we see a new side of the General and it's actually heart-warming. But yeah, it's so amusing to see him discover stuff like ice cream, lunch by the cherry blossoms, shopping at the supermarket and waiting for hours at the zoo just to see what color is a panda's tail. The General is an alien and a leader of a villainous org who wants to destroy humanity (and breed pandas). He just really wants a pet panda so that he can hug one at the end of an exhausting work day and like who can't relate to that, heh. Then there's Red Dawn, part of the Rangers, tasked with catching the General. He has a few run-ins with the General and all of them were hilarious especially seeing as he doesn't have any sense of direction and is almost always lost. 💀

Every bit as good as I remember!
I read a fan-translation of this years ago and instantly fell in love.It made me so happy to see an official version up for sale that I pre-ordered it immediately. And now that I have it... Aaaah, it's SO GOOD!!! I can't wait for the next volume to come out!-----Mild spoilers below:-----This is a very soft, healing, slice-of-life kind of manga. It's broken into many short snippets, all centered around Mr Villain (who is an Alien Invader heading an Evil Organization) and, as you guessed from the title, what he does on his days off.You meet a few side characters - all adorable in their own ways - and see all the nice things that Mr Villain slowly finds out that he likes about Earth and its people.Chief among these things are Pandas. Seriously, he cannot get enough of pandas.Anyway, if you want to read a really well-drawn manga about a hot evil dude with a secret soft side, this is your book!

READ IT!
I loved the cover, but the synopsis didn’t do a whole lot for me, so I was going to pass this up. I don’t remember why I finally decided to give it a shot, but I’m *so* glad I did! It’s so sweet and heartwarming. I mean, that’s just my opinion, but I think this is definitely worth a try for anyone even 1/3 considering it...

So good!
Mr. Villain keeps a work-life balance, avoids any coworkers on days off. And watches pandas. And tries seasonal sweets. Even if he wants to destroy humanity, (or perhaps BECAUSE he does), he's super relatable. Mr. Villain is the villain we don't deserve, but the one we need.

Thank goodness for days off
All it would take is one bad day for him to end the world. But thankfully, he has days off, zoos, convenience store food and pandas to keep him placated.

Its happens I guess
It was great, but it came a bit damaged. The cover was a little torn.

Pandas 🐼
Great story, I love it! Definitely worth following this series. All the characters so far are really good and I can't disagree with Mr villain - the mass propagation of pandas is a great idea 😄

Even villains want to avoid work on their day off
I loved this so much, I couldn't stop smiling reading each page. Can't wait to read more, I adored the contrast of the villain on his work day vs his days off. So evil and yet so sweet, perfect cozy read 🥰😍
