Oscillating Halogen Heater - 1200W by Highlands

This is my first halogen heater, and I am impressed. It warms a room up very quickly, is low energy, and you don't need a lamp on with the heater on. It cuts off when knocked, which is essential for me due to having cats and dogs. It's a big hit with my cats too! It also oscillates, which is a nice feature.It is sturdy on its base, and it didn't require any assembly on my part.The bulbs have lasted over 30 hours of use so far. I read other reviews saying that the bulbs lasted for a minimal amount of time, but they're still going so far.Very happy with this product, heats well and is cheaper to run, with a great thermal cut off feature which gives me peace of mind as a pet owner. Obviously I don't leave the cats or dogs unattended with this heater on, but you never know what could happen, and the knowledge that this will cut off if knocked over gives me peace of mind.Edit. Since writing this just over a week ago, one of the bulbs have gone, which is disappointing.

Does what it's supposed to and for the money is great. With three heating outputs and an oscillating ability this is a great little heater. Some people have mentioned that it's difficult to get it to work as it has a push button at the bottom to ensure it only works on a flat surface. For use on carpet I find that if I put something small and flat like a postcard under it on the carpet then the button stays depressed and it works well. The only slight issue is that the halogen bulbs are very bright so I have to position it to the side of where I sit so it doesn't distract me.

With 3 heat levels it makes it very flexible, have only needed level 1 & 2 so far and keeps 16m² room comfortable. The electric fire I have has either 1 or 2kw even on 1 we were constantly turning it on and off. The only slight negative is that being halogen it is very bright so best not in line of sight.

If only a HIGHLANDS heater had been delivered. I particularly chose Highlands as the one I already have is Highlands and they are reliable and long lasting unlike a lot of the other lookalike heaters. However a Highlands is not what was delivered, it was less well made and more flimsy. I can’t be bothered to send it back, I have only had it a few weeks and already have to replace one of the heating bulbs.

Delivery was slow as usual, the stand doesnt fit properly, really annoying, though I used hot melt glue too attach it too the heater n worked for about 2months, now only 2 bulbs work, not worth the price for electricity & halogen bulbs to make it work!!.

This is an awful product. It is sold as a new item and yet the fittings are rusted. The base plate's plastic contours do not align properly and the two screw fixings, no matter how much they are turned, do not fit fully 'home' meaning that the whole unit does not sit securely.

Good heater, working well and good value. Only down side it is so very bright we have to turn it away from sight as it hurts our eyes. We’ve had several of these types of heaters, this is a particular issue with this one.

I was not so optimistic about Halogen heaters in general as the bulbs KEEP DYING OUT!Fingers crossed! This heater is going strong so i'm a happy bunny at the moment, considering i put all the bars on.Amazon delivery is AMAZING.
