Great hub!!
Great, functional little hub!! I had an old purgo brand one that I bought from Amazon about a year ago and it stopped working recently. Decided to upgrade to the Anker one and wowww, I noticed the difference in quality immediately. It’s a bit larger, feels sturdier, and has more ports. Plugged it into my MacBook right away and everything is working perfectly! I was having issues with my monitor flashing on and off with the old hub and that is no longer an issue with this one :) charges great too!

Great to use with MacBook Pro M3
I have used USB C adapters in the past, and they worked, but this experience is just so much better in terms of form and function. This looks a lot more professional plugged into my unit than a dongle with a cord. It is a no brainer to throw in your laptop or school bag. My only complaint is the lack of an ethernet port, to accomplish that you would need an additional adapter. You can accomplish 90% of daily tasks with this dock without issues.

Works great with MacBook!
I recently purchased a MacBook Air, and as you know it doesn't have any HDMI or USB ports. I already have a Lenovo ThinkPad docking station but it only has one HDMI port. I bought this Anker product because I needed a second HDMI port but didn't want to pay a lot of money for a new docking station. It also charges my laptop so that's a plus, along with a couple of USB ports if you need them. So far it works great and I highly recommend it.

As described, great quality, durable.
Needed to add additional USB ports to my MacBook Pro M1. Device works great, adds the ports I was looking for. Durable all metal design. Compatible as described with my MacBook. Color matches well too. Its a little odd plugging in and removing, and it flexes a little, but overall I am happy with it.

Beautiful finish, but charging was touchy and USB ports slower than Satechi Pro Slim Hub
An impromptu comparison between the Anker 547 hub and Satechi Pro Slim Hub when used with a new Macbook Air (2020, M1). Spoiler alert, the Satechi has faster USB transfer speeds and was less finicky during charging, if slightly less visually appealing. The finish of the Anker 547 hub is beautiful. The contrast between the brushed aluminum and the polished bevelled edge with port markings is a beautiful design. The Satechi Pro Slim has the same basic aluminum design, but without the polished bevel and markings. This makes the Satechi look slightly less premium. The Anker is more visually appealing in person, but you have to live with the subdued, but still noticeable Anker logo on top. The Satechi forgoes any visible branding. Both hub's were a decent color match to my Macbook's Space Grey finish, with the Anker being an ever slightly closer match. Why did I buy both? Well unfortunately, when using the passthru charging on the Anker, my Macbook would occasionally stop charging if the laptop was slightly moved while on the desk. It was very finicky, sometimes starting and stopping charging every couple seconds. This only seemed to affect charging, with a connected mouse maintaining stable connection throughout. Disconnecting and reconnecting the Anker hub to ensure it clicked all the way in did not seem to alleviate the finicky charging situation. The laptop is brand new, as is its charging cord and stock 30 watt charger. Charging is rock solid when plugged in directly to the Macbook and via the Satachi's passthru USB4 port. I don't see other reviewers complaining of this, so maybe I just got a bad Anker hub.Had it not been for the touchy charging on the Anker, I would have never tried the Satechi Pro Slim Hub. Another retailer had a deal of the day which brought the Satechi price to within $15 of the Anker's usual sale price on Amazon. Although slightly more expensive, the Satechi is not finicky in passthru charging, and as a bonus has faster USB ports. While both the Anker and Satechi's passthru charging USB-C port is rated at 40Gbps, all of the Satechi's other USB ports (2 USB-A and an 1 additional USB-C) are rated at 10Gbps. The Anker is limited to 5Gbps each. Using a 2TB Crucial X8 SSD formatted to APFS, I confirmed the Satechi is about twice as fast as the Anker when reading and writing using the second USB-C port while charging with the first (see Blackmagic Disk Test screenshots). When disconnecting power and using each hub's 40 Gbps USB-C port, read speeds were near identical, although the Satechi still maintained a 100 MB/s write advantage over the Anker in that scenario. My Crucial X8, like most 1050 Mbps rated SSD's on the market, will run full speed* with the Satechi's 10Gbps ports, while only running at half speed with Anker's 5Gbps ports.*Within the capability of the Mac hardware. During my tests of the Crucial X8 directly connected to my various macs, Macbook Air M1 writes about 200 Mbps slower (600 Mbps) versus my MacMini M1 (800 Mbps).I wish my Anker 547 Hub hadn't been a lemon with its finicky charging as it is an inexpensive, premium looking hub that satisfied my very average Macbook Air needs. That being said, the Satechi Pro Slim Hub is undoubtedly a better hub. The Satechi's 10 Gbps USB ports give you full speed out of today's most popular 1050 Mbps SSD's on the market today. And with Apple's propensity to charge an arm and a leg for storage capacity, having an external SSD is becoming essential to working with any decent amount of photos or other media.
