Robust unit, straight forward to install. Glad I purchased it!
I ordered this Fleck 9100 SXT Dual Tank 48K softener system several weeks ago after my 18 year old Kemore softener was began breaking down part by part. First off, the system is top notch, very "industrial" and clearly more heavy duty than my old Kenmore "all in one" unit. Ordering was simple and the 4 boxes arrived within a couple of days of ordering, impressive as each tank weighs about 110# each. So be prepared to have help moving these puppies to the install location! I decided on this unit for two reasons: 1) I have moderately hard water (16 gpg) and do not like to run out of soft water; 2) all my research indicates this unit and size is very efficient in terms of salt usage. (The salt usage is key as its not only an expense, but I am on a septic system and want to limit the amount of salt brine going into the septic tank.). Anyway, I originally was afraid to install myself so ordered installation services option through "Amazon Home Services" (for an additional $470!) but when no local service provider picked up my install request, I just decided to install myself. Now you have to know I have NEVER done any plumbing pipe work before, but after talking to a friend of mine who does light plumbing work all the time, and watching You Tube video on pipe soldering, I decided to tackle the job myself!Bottom line -- installed this myself (with my adult son's assistance) including doing some re-piping of my basement mechanical room plumbing to connect the unit to the house. Assembling the unit was technically pretty easy, just have some silicon grease for the units O-rings and pipe thread sealant for the threaded connection from included by-pass valve to the household plumbing lines. Make sure you prefill the tanks before installing the valve head assemblies (to avoid air bubbles etc.) and your good. Turned on the water and no leaks!!! I was a little concerned about programming, but the seller American Water Solutions was super responsive, it was easy tor each a technician who walked me through proper programming for my water hardness, household size, etc. So know I have nice soft water and a very robust, sturdy unit. If I can do this, anyone can!

Great softener, tons of capacity.
It came in several boxes and had very good instructions. I took care and went by all the steps and had no issues. My old unit was different so the pipes on my house were not exact to this unit (which is completely normal) and I bought some pvc fittings and routed it nicely. It worked great after the install. I did have an issue with it recharging the water very frequently. I called the support line and they were awesome. They walked me through all the settings and I had selected one wrong setting. Once that was fixed I’ve had no issues. Living in San Antonio this is a must. I have 4 kids and often family over for weekends, never had an issue with running out of soft water. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Self-installed and working great!
This was very easy to install if you have some reasonable plumbing skills and some time. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. I chose this dual tank system for a cottage on a private well so we would never be stuck with unsoftened water at a place that can vary widely with water demands depending on the headcount on any given weekend. No leaks on start up and has cycled flawlessly several times since I installed it. The quality of the components seems very good to excellent. Glad I made this purchase. I considered Kinetico (at a much higher total cost), but got nervous with all the reviews I read about spotty post-installation service and very high costs for replacement parts. So glad I went with Fleck.

DIY?
Had to hire a plumber to connect the fittings but otherwise setup was easy. We now have soft water all of the time.

Need to find out if I can adjust it.
This is a BIG unit so make sure you have enough space. The large double tanks reduce the amount of times I need to refill with salt- which is definitely a plus! My only complaint so far is that the water is excessively salty. Need to see if I can adjust it. If so, this will be perfect. Will update.

Great Product. Would Recommend. We had our unit for ~6 months now.
Great product. Very high quality. Best to call vendor to confirm unit is programmed correctly. I had mine professionally installed for ~$1925 and glad that I did as we needed a 50’ trench dug for our water inlet line to place our unit inside our backyard fence. We also had our unit buried half way to ensure it doesn’t go anywhere during a hurricane and to also provide some freeze protection as we live in Houston.

Perfect answer for hard water
Easy installation. Performs great! Will never have to worry about my soft water running out with the dual tanks. Large footprint needed for install because tanks are large.
