Review from a DIY Noob
I decided to sort out my garage. Recently bought some shelving (check out my review on my profile if looking for some affordable shelving) and thought insulating the garage door would be a good step forward. I came across this item and saw some great reviews. If you find this helpful, please mark it as so, thanks :-) Summary - great product, easy to install, very adhesive tape and foil tape. I think this will make a difference both in hot weather and cold. I would recommend. Quality - for the price, I’m blown away at what arrived. Very good quality (insulation and tape). Noted some comments saying the adhesion of the tape is not good. I found both rolls very sticky. My guess is when they were applying they didn’t clean the surface first. Installation - very simple and hopefully the photos help. It took me about 90mins to do it all. May be slightly less. The longest part was pulling the non stick side of tape off regularly. I started at the bottom and recall the insurrections saying start at the top. I should have followed that as the top and middle are the easiest sections vs the bottom where I had to cut a few sections. Overall I’m a diy noob and found this very easy hence 5*. Fit - I have a single garage door and had plenty left over so don’t be cautious when applying based on a single garage door. You’ll have plenty to use. It’s a shame the role wasn’t a bit wider as you can see from the pics, the width per metal partition was greater than the role. The foil tape however is very good so it wasn’t an issue overall. I saw someone comment on concern about weight and whether the garage door would close. I was surprised to read that as this is such a light product so don’t think you should worry. Impact - I’ve not had chance to measure the impact yet. Over the next 6 months I will know more. I do think this will have a great impact on hot and cold weather though and from carrying out this work I also decided to fill some of the gaps where air could get in. ****Also of note and an unexpected benefit**** there’s a definitely some sound insulation as a result of fitting this. It makes sense given you’re adding an additional layer but I hadn’t considered this benefit. This may also be linked partly to some of the filling of where air was getting in too. Looks - it certainly catches your eye when you see this. Not necessarily a positive but let’s be honest, it’s the inside of a garage door so not that exciting to look at. I’m contemplating spraying it black but it’s low on the ‘to-do’ list for now. I would recommend this product, it’s such great value for money. I hope the pics are useful and this review :-)

Garage door insulation
Done job to insulate garage door with small notable difference in heat loss since installation ,can be a bit awkward to stick using tape provided and needed to be cut to contour of door ,would recommend 2 people to help with holding sections to door with sticky tape as this was frustrating part although once stuck seems to have held ,but good solution to problem of heat loss from internal garage doors or back of radiator for reasonable price

Great insulation and easy to install
Great item. Talk about two hours to do it properly, but super simple to do and really happy with the outcome. Only comment would be you might need slightly more double sided tape that is provided, but that’s only because I took a belt and braces approach. Top product though and great value for money.

Very pleased, does exactly what I wanted
Very pleased with this kit and within about 2hrs it was installed. The insulation most closely resembles bubble wrap however was much thinner and behaved more like cardboard. Very easy to cut with a pair of scissors and the supplied double sided tape is good quality. The 100mm wide tape is a bit fiddly as it is wider than scissors and tears easily however with a bit of patience it worked well. Installation - The insulation comes in 600mm wide rolls which is a bit smaller than I needed to do a full horizontal section, I decided to cut twelve small individual panels, plus two full width strips to finish with. I stuck the double sided tape all around the outside edge on each of my three horizontal areas, I also sprayed contact adhesive onto the metal door inside the tape frame. I then used four of the small panels on each area with around 10cm overlap. I finished by running double sided tape along the horizontal bars that were remaining and covering with the long strips of insulation. Finally, I taped between all of the sections to create one large airtight piece. The contact adhesive probably isn’t needed however at £6 for a spray can on Amazon I thought I may as well secure it properly. Final results are a noticeable reduction in outside noise and a lot more light in the garage for working on my bikes, hopefully it makes the garage easier to heat in winter and not allow the temperature to get too high in summer. We’ll see! Garage door opens and stays open with no obvious strain on the mechanism from the additional weight. Overall very pleased with the kit and a bargain imo.

Installation was a breeze - optimistic
Installation was quick and straightforward. I cut the panels to size and used the supplied double-sided tape and aluminium tape — both were more than enough to secure everything properly. It looks neat and feels sturdy once fitted. I’ve just finished installing it, so I can’t comment on long-term performance yet, but first impressions are good. The insulation feels like it will make a real difference, and I’m optimistic it will help keep the garage warmer through the Scottish winter. For the price and the ease of installation, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I’ll be putting my money where my “review” is and am personally buying a second one for my other garage door.

Easy to install
I have a pull up and over door in my garage and the inside temperature was dropping to 4c affecting the efficiency of my Solar storage battery. The bubblewrap foil is very thin. Having read other reviews I bought some additional more sturdy double sided tape as the double sided tape supplied is flimsy. There was plenty of foil tape and plenty enough Bubblewrap to do the job. Disappointingly Temperature comparison before and after was only an increase of +2c (I took inside / outside temperatures to compare before and after). On the plus side the garage feels warmer and definatley brighter and it is quite lightweight. As for the Battery I found another solution and insulated that separately. Over all I would do it again but am aware that I am a just putting off getting a more modern insulated garage door. PS don't forget that you need to draught proof as well.
