Yes the rollers are slippy - they are satin and are meant to be gentle on the hair. Just spray a little bit of water over the hair ends before you start to wrap and this keeps the hair in place. Not soaking wet - slightly damp on ends/mid length. Then roll and clip together. I split hair into 3 sections and manage to link the rollers together on top of my head so I can sleep comfortably. Perfect! Review: Useless! - Absolutely useless. Material is too shiny so no grip in hair and they slide out. Poppers are really hard to connect and then rip the fabric if you are lucky enough to get them tight enough to stay in your hair. there is no bend in them so they ping open. Can't sleep in them as they just slide out. Gave them to my daughter to try in her hair as maybe mine was too short (mines below shoulders, daughters is half way down her back) she said exactly the same thing - they kept slipping out and poppers woudn't connect.
