Evoke C-D4

I am old school and still love my CD's so this seemed a perfect replacement/upgrade for the kitchen radio. Have Pure clock radios and pleased with them so this was a natural choice. Not cheap but had an amazon voucher to put towards it and you do get what you pay for. Lovely looking unit looks great in the kitchen. Added bonus was putting it on a shelf higher up (was a little too big for the windowsill) it picked up loads more stations than any other DABs in the house, even the clock radios upstairs. Sound quality excellent for the size of the unit and easy to use. Only downside and it really isn't a big deal is its only available in the Walnut finish - I would have preferred the oak to match the kitchen worktops but that's me being stupidly picky! Really am pleased with it - worth every penny to hear my favourite stations again on the radio - not online!

I cannot stress enough how great this radio is! The sound quality is fantastic! The design is gorgeous! It is so compact and sturdy, visually very appealing. It just looks and sounds so great! The CD player is very very good! Honestly it is a great bit of kit. I am so very happy with mine! Couple of niggles is that the sleep timer/auto off function is only 60 minutes and my last Pure was 90 minutes. That is more than a personal issue with myself though (never have been able to go to sleep within getting into bed.) The light is still quite bright when turned off even in its lowest setting. That may be just me though as I no longer live near streetlights, so a darker room may make it more evident.

Super stylish. Would definitely recommend. Sound quality is good. Looks/feels like a high quality product. CD player is great! Compact for what it is! Minor negatives to consider: the remote control only works when directly in front of it, from a distance, but only from a 90 degree angle; also the sound is quite booming/bass heavy in comparison with our old radio, which was more piercing. This means that my mother, who is a little hard of hearing, tends to have the volume up I think even louder than before!! Finally, the radio antenna is stuck on at the back so only has a range of motion in one plane at the back of the radio, so couldn't be pushed directly backwards for example. Overall, a solid purchase which I am very happy with!

I am very impressed with this Pure Evoke. It has very good sound for such a compact product. It was easy to set up though the documentation is very limited. I was a little concerned about the CD because of some of the reviews but mine has turned out to be an excellent addition. I prefer to use the handheld controller to manage the set though this is less effective as you move even a short distance away from the set. This is not a problem for me but others might find it irritating. The Bluetooth works well with my iPad and iPod. What is more I can get good DAB reception in what is a poor reception area and one where some of my other DAB radios have failed, including my more powerful Denon. Overall I am very impressed and pleased to have bought the Pure Evoke.

Ordered this in November for my son for Christmas. Opened it Christmas morning to find it wouldn’t play CD’s. Requested a replacement, which arrived the day after Boxing Day. This one recognised the CD’s but kept stopping and switching off intermittently. Returned this one and ordered a different make, which was £80 cheaper and has internet radio. I have a number of Pure radios, one I’ve had for nearly twenty years, and they’ve never let me down, however getting two that were defective makes me wonder if Pure is relying on it’s reputation. This seemed like a really well made product and looks beautiful, and the sound quality was excellent, such a pity about the CD player. I didn’t test the sleep mode, however I’ve only given the remote one star as this also worked intermittently unless it was about two feet from the radio, which defeats the object.

Really pleased with this CD player! Smart, compact and big on sound. I wanted a small music system to listen to the radio and also be able to play CDs - this does both really well and looks good.

I am extremely pleased with the purchase of this Pure Evoke DAB Radio with CD player. From some of the other reviews on Amazon, I was not sure whether to purchase this item or not, but there have been absolutely no issues with it and the sound quality, given that this was a relatively inexpensive purchase, is really excellent. In particular, I do not wish to be blasted with heavy, pumping bass sounds and the sound balance of this system is excellent - the bass is present but the higher frequencies, particularly for vocal music, are also very present and clear. I like the clarity of the sound and its presence in the room. It doesn't appear that you can eject a CD from the player utilising the remote control, and I would say the functions on the remote are slightly limited, but otherwise this was a very good buy.

I bought this as a bedside clock. It looks good and the sound is excellent. It's got CD, bluetooth and DAB/FM radio all of which work well and sound great. Setting the alarms is a bit tricky as there are several steps to go through. The main issue for me though is the brightness of the display. There are 5 levels: low to bright. Even on the lowest (dimmest) setting it is far far too bright at night. I put it on a bedside table and it's like having a light left on next to your eyes. So I have reverted to covering up the display with a blackout cloth so that I can sleep. Shame, as I bought it to replace an old bedside alarm clock. For that reason I have given it 3 stars.

Habe den Pure Evoke als Weihnachtsgeschenk gekauft und vorab direkt auf reibungslose Funktionen und eventuellen Defekt ausprobiert... Zum Radio: sofort nachdem ich die Stromversorgung hergestellt habe, startet der DAB+ mit dem Scan nach in der nähe empfangbaren Radiosendern. Dies hat ca. 1-2 Min. gedauert. Der Empfang war anschließend ausgezeichnet und es wurden viele Radiosender gefunden. Zum CD-Player: der CD-Player hat auch sofort funktioniert. Nur bei gebrannten CDs hat es anfangs nicht funktioniert. Aber einmal CD raus und wieder rein und siehe da, er schluckt auch gebrannte CDs ohne Probleme. zum Bluetooth: als letztes habe ich noch die Blutooth-Funktion via Handy (Samsung Galaxy S6) überprüft. Die Geräte (Pure Evoke + Handy) haben sich sofort gefunden und eine störfreie Verbindung aufgebaut. Selbst als ich mit dem Handy ins Nachbarzimmer gegangen bin, ist die Verbindung störfrei aufrecht geblieben. zur Klangqualität: hier kann ich ebenfalls nur sagen, dass Sound für die kompakte Bauweise äußerst gut ist. Natürlich darf man dies nicht mit einer entsprechenden Audioanlage vergleichen, welche in die Richtung für Soundenthusiasten geht. Aber für den allgemeinen Gebrauch wirft der Radio egal ob im Radio-, CD- oder Blutoothbetrieb einen tiefen Sound in Räume von ca. 20-25 m². Die Bedienung am Gerät ist ebenfalls sehr intuitiv und ohne einlesen in die Bedienungsanleitung sofort ein Kinderspiel. Fazit: ich würde den Radio, sofern meiner den Geist aufgeben sollte, sofort auch für mich kaufen, da er zwar etwas teurer ist, aber sowohl vom Design und auch von der Qualität absolut überzeugt.

Devo dire che supera le mie aspettative, ottimo prodotto. Ha un buon suono pulito, l’unica problema è il manuale scarno che rende difficile impostare alcune funzioni, ma per il resto non mi lamento
